One could argue that a script is literature. Any writing in verse or prose=literature. I'll try not to create an English discussion over this, but I couldn't resist since this is brought up occasionally about IOA.

Then one could also argue that the written plans for any ride could be considered literature.

While I would love to see a trackless dark ride at UOR.......I would be OK with SLOP being a Hollywood "exclusive" and use the ride tech for another IP at UOR. I'd hate to see another "Transformers" randomly plopped down somewhere although the Shrek plot wouldn't be a horrible placement.

I'll gladly take a clone of Space Fantasy please.

The literature argument is so played out and dumb to me. If they really cared about that direction the place would be called "books of adventure". It's basically "islands of whatever cool things we can put in a theme park that'll be fun and give us tons of cash"

The park has not been about literature since day one of operation. Dudley Do-right, a major attraction Rocky and Bullwinkle segment based from television(already saw the attempt at an argument there a page ago) and anyone who has read Jurassic Park and seen the films know the vast differences.

Literature plays a part, but it is not restricted nor bound to it as a means of theme law.

I like that term, "Theme Law". New three credit course at Harvard next autumn semester. :)

The first "FULL" trailer for SLOP has been released.

Seeing the trailer, theres real certain things that already; I can tell this could be a big hit. And some things for what the ride could have, on the settings themselves especially.

Nice. Actually shows the storyline this time. Looks good and plenty of potential for sequels.

Anyone who thinks this won't be huge is nuts.

IoA should be starting construction ASAP on this puppy. No reason to "wait and see"

It's not like they're using that ampitheater for anything. Knock it down and start building, damn it.

(also why are you guys dragging in the literature argument when they're building and about to open a King Kong attraction in the park?)

Eh. There have been hundreds of movies that looked very promising only to end up being horrid duds.

Considering the nature of the animated film market, I don't think this is one of them. With Universal's marketing department behind Illumination, this is going to be a smash. I'm 99% sure this is going to be Uni's next huge franchise.

Exactly. At least start land clearing for whatever may come to that plot in the future.

Looks like a cute movie, can see some elements in there that would work well for a ride. I agree with everything Jungleskip is saying. It's gonna be HUGE and they should start ASAP

It does look good but so did Despicable Me 2. Either way something about Kevin Hart playing a bunny seems off but kind of works at the same time.

Whether you liked it or not, Despicable Me 2 made a billion dollars.

It only made that much because the first film was actually good and had built up anticipation. They've practically ruined the DM franchise with DM2 and Minions. I don't care how much money they made.
