As far as the original rumor I believe was; wasn't it said of it being VERY like Poohs Hunny Hunt?

In either case, I have a..personal thought. Would it make sense to possibly assume that for when SLOP opens; how aggressive will the ride be to its riders?

Its an interesting thought, considering that there is tech to balance the thrill and family aspect of trackless together.

When I think of quality dark ride, I think of Pirates or Splash Mountain (the indoor scenes). Everything else is way far behind in my view.

Don't forget Haunted Mansion. Or Spaceship Earth.

You are right. Those are the next 2 I'd put.

I love most dark rides I've been on. It's just nice to sit back and enjoy what's around you at a steady pace rather than being hurled to the next scene. In a world of tons of simulatiors dominating the industry. I've just grown to appreciate them more

This is where we definitely have a differing opinion

I thought Snow White looked cheap and cheesy and was one of the worst rides imo. You could say that Pan looks cheap and cheesy too, but I think it's much more effective there (while it still needs a lot of help).

Agreed. We hardly ever went on Snow White. In fact when I knew it was closing down I said to my husband, do you want to ride it one more time? He goes, "Nope, I have no desire to see it again". We were there almost every weekend and we rode a ton of rides. Some we rode only a handful of times and some we rode every single time. Snow White I think we rode twice with the kids.

If they would have kept Snow White how it was originally designed, instead of making it less scary, and then re-naming the ride "scary" I would have been more offended with it's removal. The last time I rode it I thought it felt really outdated and cheap. I don't feel that way about any of the other dark rides in MK. Peter Pan included.

Pan is in TERRIBLE condition. Way worse than SWSA ever was. Terrible audio, awful looking characters, etc. I love that ride, but man is it in really bad shape.

It needs a refurb for sure, I won't defend the condition Peter Pan is in. But I still liked it way better than snow white. Those cardboard cutouts made it look really bad.

*shrug* Mister Toad's Wild Ride and Alice In Wonderland are LEAGUES better than Peter Pan, and both feature flat characters.

I have not seen either, so I cannot comment on them. But I was never impressed with Snow White. I don't think I am alone, it didn't have Pooh or Peter Pan size lines. And when I was with others, no one ever said, hey, let's go there. I know I didn't miss it and no one I talk to even Disney fanboys ever complained about it going away.

I'm not saying it was the best ride, but it's way better than the people in this thread are saying it was, and it's way better than the M&G that replaced it.

The best thing about Peter Pan is the new queue. It's actually better than the ride itself, in my opinion. The only problem is that you can't experience it with a fastpass. Due to the prohibitively long stand by lines, you need to hit this ride just as the park opens, if you want to experience the queue without wasting an hour standing in line.

We are getting off topic, but one thing I'll say about the Meet and Greet, is that it is immensely more popular (to the public) than the snow white ride ever was.

Also Peter Pan still has it's charms. Hence the long lines.

I did snow white so few times and I never do the Princess M&G, so I am indifferent to the whole thing.

the meet and greets are for the kids (and the adults that act like kids).

Well I have a kid actually in the target range (she is 5), still don't go. Then again my daughter is not into Princesses. She hates when Disney employees call her a Princess. So in reality I am lucky. Hoping to have the same luck with daughter #2, but I have a feeling I won't. She likes dolls :(

I detest dark rides with cardboard cut outs. I can see that at home. I like the ones with depth and ones that don't have a lot of empty walls or spaces, ones that you can see things off in the distance...ones that you can see something different every time you ride. That's why I'm hoping SLOP ends up more like that, and less like Pooh and Cat in the Hat.
