The thing about Shrek is that it exits into a successful Gift Shop, is still a brand-able character, no height requirement and very little cost to operate. Its a small staffed 3-D show. It is going to stay until something easily translates to the space or they are ready to get rid of the building altogether.

Not to mention they need that building for HHN.

This is true, and they can still operate with half of the building for the attraction during the slower months(like HHN) which provide for less operating cost(less staff members)

Shrek, like RRR, is a monument to the dark times.

I just saw the trailer for this and Sing. I can't wait to see both. This ride sounds so fun.

To summarize your previous posts in this thread, that are right on, from what other insiders are saying: * 2 floors, one for queue second for ride *9 scenes, mostly AA's & physical sets, some projection mapping *Ride Vehicles, similar to or Roomba ride vehicles * 5 occupants in each vehicle * POC clue, but I don't know what that entails

Shrek is one of my favorite movies and has some of my favorite characters ever and I would not be upset at all if Shrek 4D goes. 4D is so outdated. Transformers is the only non outdated ride in Production Central. A trackless dark ride at the front of the park would be better than dated technology. If Universal can turn Production Central into a better entrance , SLOP E Ticket ,family Minions E Ticket, SSFL, it would get them away from the studios feels and improve the appearance of the park.

Building at the same time as Nintendo will hurt in the short term but pay off in the long term.

As of now, it seems to have gotten dark. I do wonder if they are waiting for the Films success in USH, but who knows.

Three things. Attractions Magazine has a great writeup, summing the rumors for SLOP so-far.

The Rumor Queue: 'The Secret Life of Pets' ride coming?

Second, The new trailer for SLOP is out, showing more of what we could expect..and the third,

I know this originated from the IOA thread; but if UO doesn't seem like its getting it, with Hollywood being more likely to have it as a exclusive attraction, wouldn't It make sense to move this thread over to the USH portion of the OU Forums? Just a thought, I suppose.

This is almost verbatim the previous information we have had on this thread. Some of it was deleted since it could be of consequence to the poster. But it does verify our info from months ago. This is a ride that I would love to see in Orlando. A few of our insiders have said it's now doubtful, so I hope if that info is correct, that Universal changes course and puts it in. This sounds like it would be a great family attraction, and the movie trailers are funny as all heck.

If SLOP isn't coming to UO, it doesn't mean that the ride system can be incorporated for another IP that they can do.

I do hope that the tech comes there, but it seems that you guys still have some time before we here in the west get it.

But it generally makes more sense to clone the ride to keep costs down, instead of doing something different with the tech. I really can't understand why Universal wouldn't put it in both parks. If the movie is a success, and it appears it will, it's almost a perfect family attraction. But, I'm not an Insider, so I have no clue what's going into their thought processes that would keep it out of Orlando. The people who mentioned it probably was not coming, haven't said why.

I believe its been said of Nintendo not using the trackless system. Can be wrong about that though; but that's what I believe has been said.

On one hand USH could really use some sort of exclusive attraction... but on another hand, Pets could really fill out some good niches (family ride, full of AAs, bringing life to a less popular area in the park) at both resorts. I think if USH gets something exclusive, it should be something JW-related.

I legit didn't think this project was anything more than fanboi fantasy. Apparently it really exists, at least in conceptual/design form. As in they've bothered to do most of the preliminary work including layouts of scenes, etc.. they just havent picked a final location or anything.

It seems to be along the lines of what Disney has said they wanted - to jump on brands while they're hot and hitting theaters rather than waiting. I'm just not entirely convinced this is the IP to do that with, but the concept itself looks impressive enough that it might not matter.

Kind of how ET is impressive as a ride overall all by itself - it could theorhetically be about any aliens and not the ones from the film.
