At this point, I don't understand why they haven't bulldozed Dragon Challenge. I understand that it's a great coaster. But, nobody goes on it post-Potter and it takes up a ton of real estate in the most valuable area of the park. If they wanted to build a Great Hall or another Hogwarts attraction, that's where it would go.

Dragon Challenge has a great capacity, so lines don't build fast for it. In high season waits will go up to an hour though. Also, it would be ludicrous to get rid of such a great coaster that has a great capacity. To me it is as ludicrous as getting rid of Hulk (then I find Dragon Challenge better than Hulk).

Also, if they wanted to expand the wizarding world, they could also use the top part of Lost Continent where Sinbad is. Personally though, I think that more Potter would be better for Diagon Alley which only has one ride (besides HE) or for the 3rd park.

We get way off topic sometimes. This is the SLOP thread.

They could do something similar to "Laff Trakk" at Hershey Park. Small show building but an enclosed mild coaster.

I think the film has to prove itself before anything else can possibly happen.

I'm not sure it can be a Mystic Manor, as that very much comes down to the execution beyond the plans much like how a Shakespeare play can be boring as hell if done by a mediocre company... But it seems more promising than Antarctica and Ratatouille.

I wonder if you'll need to make the trek to Hollywood, if Orlando doesn't get it (which seems possible).

As much as I want to say; "Have you ridden it?", I do want to point out that MM wasn't what this ride was compared to since the start. SLOP was more compared to Poohs Hunny Hunt from Tokyo so that needs to be kept in mind.

Although PHH is also amazing so yeah.

Why only build one though if you've already paid for the bulk of the design costs?

Yeah regardless of what certain people say if it does happen and personally I do, I think we get this at multiple parks. When I say just waiting I truly believe if this is in the pipeline they're just waiting on box office results and reviews to hit. I also think they learned a HUGE lesson with Despicable Me and if successful they will go all out with this or any other kid / family friendly IP.

But with that in mind, Nintendo should be the major goal then, no?

And resources should be pointed there, right?

Wasn't there something a while back that was of a mass-hire of workers for UC? I can be wrong about that though.

I think Nintendo is a huge goal but not the biggest one on their plate at the moment. 3rd Gate and Beijing plus all the resources elsewhere seem to have them stretched as is

The USH version seems that it'll be starting construction in the coming weeks to arise.

EDIT: As I stated, with this seeming more and more like Hollywoods game for the time being; wouldn't It make sense that we move this thread to the USH section of the forums?

Shouldn't they wait for the movie to come out before actually starting any construction?

The test screenings and buzz for this film is through the roof. They've done their research, and the project is ornate enough to justify existence even if it shockingly flops. For extra insurance, Illumination even attached a new Minions short to the film, one that went over like gangbusters at CinemaCon.

Universal knows what they're doing here. It's sticking it to Disney. Why wait three years for a paltry boat ride overlay to one of your biggest franchises? Why not have a quality family dark ride E-ticket with trackless technology and animatronics say, less than two years later?

Or less for one, considering Hollywoods case.

SLOP has been testing so well; that I am not surprised that they're making this move. And to mention, especially for USH; they need an attraction that is a heavy family ride, that everyone can go on without having the motion sickness of the screens.
