Look at this another way, The movie comes out in July. It'll take longer than two months to just build the building. If it flops, they can halt and repurpose the building for another ride, or just change the theme of the ride to something else. Might cost a little more, but gets them way ahead of the game if this thing is as big as it can be.

Pretty much, especially when the company get's in talks of buying a particular animation studio that would provide a whole smorgasborg of IP's to make park attractions out of. (While that may not be what Teebin is refering to, however it's a good factor of things constantly changing.)

I know this is Hollywood, but merch for the movie has popped up in the Studios store in Florida. Perhaps if the movie does well and the stuff flies off the shelves (a la Minions), then we may see Pets in Orlando too.

We also have Merchandise at USH too for SLOP. Once again, my guess is that they'll announce it shortly after the films opening weekend for a late 2017 opening.
