It's also relatively smoother in the very first seat. The ride forces are a lot more fun in the back, but the jerkiness increases a lot. It's tolerable until the last two big maneuvers.

But for all it's faults, it's really unique ride that's really like nothing else in the USA, so I still think it's worth a ride.

Dude if they just retrack X2, it would be a top 10 coaster in the country for me easy. Maybe Top 5

X2 needs severe refurbishments from retracking, new trains, proper maintenance, everything. Until then. It's not rideable in the current condition. It's unpleasant.

And this is coming from someone who would ride it multiple times

When X2 first launched I think it had an argument as best roller coaster in the world. It’s that good. Right now? I’m good.

Does the inside seat versus outside seat still make a noticeable difference or has it all become rough?

I don’t think it makes a difference but some people swear it does. Both seats are on the same chassis that rotates

It did used to be that the inner seat were a bit smoother, as the vibrations would increase the further away you get from the tracks. But nowadays, even the inner seats are pretty rough.

And most of this is really just in the final two maneuvers. The rest of the ride, while not smooth, is tolerable IMO. But those last two moves can really pack a wallop that is not fun.

Some Magic Mountain updates:
  • All food locations now have signs in the window announcing what time they will open that day, or if they will be closed all day. Definitely a step in the right direction, although it'd be even more helpful to have that also in the app.
  • Even though it was a low attendance day, most rides had 2 train ops, including Revolution, Ninja, and Tatsu (which have all been in single train ops for months if not more)
  • Jet Stream is open (and Drop of Doom), and Roaring Rapids opened at 1pm
  • The Scrambler station (which was original to the park) has been torn down
  • Security checkpoint has some hanging flower baskets on it, a surprisingly nice touch
  • No observable change at Sky Tower, nor the new ride

Thank God those ugly ass fences are finally going to become visually appealing to walk by, haha.

I also just replied to that post... the fences are actually metal just painted to look like wood. But they did not seem to retain heat... it was over 90 degrees today, and they were still cool to the touch

It sure does look nicer, but it's also a bit stark, so I'm hoping that over time, they at least add some posters or decorative items to break it up a bit

The new Walls are so much better then the fences

The jewelry store wont be missed and should allow for easier lines for the FF house there

I’m concerned about guests damaging the new fence over time. Looks good now but. Should’ve put a planter barrier in between the fence and walkway.

^ There is a plan to add a protective barrier if that becomes an issue.

Hilarious how many think this place is still attended by cholos when it’s a whole new type of gang that likes to go here - and theyre rich kids of high class families who think theme parks are a fine replacement for a babysitter.

Only tagging you’ll see on these fences these days is of a very infamous contemporary political slogan lol.

I can attest to that. The clientele has shifted some since Valencia became more upscale. We still get trouble makers, but SFMM isn't the cool place for rowdy teens as it used to be.

I see more thrill seeking dads with their kids now.

I've got news for you... it's more than cholos that tag things.

As a teacher, I can tell you, it doesn't take much for a teen to tag something, especially when it's a big blank canvas. I have overwhelming strong academic students this year, and still find tagging all over my room that wasn't there before.

Yeah, I think it might surprise some people how, ah, diverse the tagging community is haha.
