Hi guys, my first post on these forums. I live in the UK but frequent the US quite regularly with half my family being from the states. Super excited about this ride. I planned a trip for around the 28th-30th of June, certain Kong would be up and running by then. Kongfrontation being one of my all time favourite theme park attractions. Are my chances of Reign slim now, or do you think I've given it enough time?

Short answer: we don't know yet.

Long answer: a lot of frustration is from internal delays with soft openings. We all want this open but they're still on track for their vague "Summer 2016" timeframe.

I would be blown away if by those dates the ride isnt open. I think there would have to be a rather large technical issue for it not to be open by then. I think it will be very busy by those dates. So on site hotel early access to the park would be key to riding it quickly.

Ohh i don't think they will need a synthetic dank smell. Sweating tourists will provide plenty of dank smells. Lots of different kinds of smells.

The massive smoke effect screwed up one of the sensors on Gringotts as I recall. Remember there was a period where there was not enough smoke to hide the screen? That happened just so they could run it at all. Practical effects is kind of a vague term but yes, there are effects but I never heard of any of them causing RV issues. They also tested a dank smell effect for all of the interior, but it made some of the workers dizzy and sick. Not sure of what happened after that. I haven't heard any of the TMs mention a smell.

Oh, and on Gringotts, it was some of the effects that weren't communicating properly I believe. I thought the second tippy track was one of them.

^ Same old same old. Sounds like communications issues still plague this attractions. It has to be the sets and screens interrupting the wireless. Then there's the RFID tags.... yeeesh.

Its just a tad funny how awesome a trackless vehicle sounds until you have issues that blatantly prevent you from seamless running....

Makes me real nervous for the eventual down time and reset protocol required.

Not so sure I want to ride a soft opening if there might be so many issues that ruin the ride. Maybe it is for the best to just wait until the kinks are worked out. I still remember early softs being stuck on Midway Mania for 45 minutes and Gringotts sounding like an old transistor radio.

True. The ride won't truly be delayed media-wise until September 22nd, the first day of fall.

I think they'll make it. ;)

The discounts on AP's these days is hardly worth having. I must have been declined discount at Disney a half dozen times, if not more. I remember not so long back 20% at all the parks was the norm and it seemed to be accepted at more places.

As a side note - I found it quite frustrating that Disney tout their magic bands so you don't have to carry much around the parks with you, keys, cash and tickets, yet when you want to use AP discount you still need your original AP + ID

You can show you phone app with your pass listed and the accept that. But yes, it is annoying they can't scan the band.
