So lets talk seriousness now that were getting closer to memorial day and hoping softs start next week. Where are you all checking to see if the walls are down?

I have been checking instagram tags for signs of it opening. I think I am going to go to the park on tuesday next week hoping that the day after memorial day brings a surpise.

Agreed and Nintendo is going down that path too. Where it was announced too early and it is going to seem that it is taking forever to be built and open. I think Nintendo pushed Universal into this decision like Cameron pushed Disney into their decision.

Yes, but this is opening 2020. Announcement was in 2015. So it is 5 years from announcement to it being open. Avatar was announced in 2011 and will be open in 2017 which is 6 years difference. So basically a year longer than Nintendo. So again, it is not that Avatar was hugely delayed (construction started later than they planned), it was that they announced it WAY too early. Just like Nintendo was announced WAY to early. It is why normally Universal would like things announced after construction starts. Then the wait is not as long and doesn't feel like forever for people. In both cases the parks were forced to announce plans before they really had the concept ironed out. Which is not something either park likes to do.

Walls are still up, but testing is occurring with opening doors. I saw the top of one of the trucks from the Ripsaw Falls queue; not sure if you can see the whole thing from Camp Jurassic anymore? The highest tower seemed to be closed off.

You cant see anything from camp Jurassic with that section closed off.
