All good.

This is why I'd like topics to stay on-topic. Not filled with 30 postings of cream and random other stuff. Newer people or people who don't visit as often can feel detracted from going back if one full page is just fluff.

Wait, they are running the whole movie tomorrow night? I thought it was just the attraction special. I am not going to sit through that movie again...

Does anyone know when during the movie they will show the special? Or will stuff be drip fed throughout the movie?

Also will this be new info or just them getting out stuff we have already seen out to the general public?

That's four hours of my life that's no worth sitting thru for a commercial. I got the entire internet to do that job for me! :p

This reminds me of the South Park episode where they're waiting to watch the new Terrance and Phillip trailer. And now The Russell Crowe Fighin' Around The World song is stuck in my head again.

I've still never see Kong all the way through.

I wouldn't be surprised if they're just showing each of the existing Making Of videos during commercial breaks.

They could show Myth Explorer instead of the commercial breaks.

I don't get the hate for the movies length. If the story can keep me engaged it doesn't really matter to me. Same with Avatar

Dat head tho... :hail:

My complaint with the film is that it should've started right as they got to Skull Island; just like the original 1933 film.

Sets it up better that they started in NY imo.

Yea but the first hour is just backstory and essentially close to being too slow. Peter Jackson has this problem.

Jackson's King Kong is painfully underrated. It's a fantastic, well crafted movie made by a hardcore fan. Definitely not for the ADHD generation. Character development is essential to a good film. You could get away with it in the 30s because it was all about the spectacle.

Well said. It's good when a filmmaker doesn't detract from the story to serve the audience. God forbid people are away from their phones for too long.

Needless to say Jackson could use a more judicious editor. Three hours for the story of King Kong is way too much, I don't care how much character development you shove in that first hour. (or excruciatingly long action sequences in the second)

Not if you're trying to make an epic. They have their place in cinema and usually stand the test of time.

I think it was when we visited in FEB, one of the new boats they were running from RP (I'm imagine it is for SF) was named the SS Venture.
