I have always thought they would plant his knuckles on the ground and only have the torso or head move. This is most likely because I know a whole lot more about the robotics inside than I should.

Want to throw us a bone and tell us how many actuators are in him? At least give us some idea of the complexity, granted most of them must be in the face with how articulated and nuanced the facial expressions look from what we have been able to see so far.

As a general surprise to me, much of the general public knows what Kong is and is super excited for it.

The area totally fits in with he theming of the general Jurassic look.

Universal definitely got this figured out. Kudos

All that I will say is that it was more simple than I had imagined in theory, number of facial controls etc... But I know nothing about the tech involved so I would imagine it is far more complicated than it looks, especially from a reliability standpoint.

example: The FJ dragon looks pretty simple in show, but stripped of it's skin appeared a small engineering marvel.

(sorry, I wish I could be more open and explicit. I've got to shut up sometimes.)

I think a lot of people have fond memories of Kongfrontation and when people find out that a new and updated version is coming, it's going to stir nostaglia (Something Universal has never really had before) and excitement. Kong is a pretty strong brand as well, so saying 'A new Kong ride' is coming should be enough but Universal have ran a pretty solid campaign for it too.

It would be kind of funny if Kong ends up attracting more people to IoA than HP did to USH.

I agree. I've always felt Kong would be an attendance bonanza, not on the order of HP, but still very strong.

Universal marketing has definitely done a solid job. I live in New England, and we hardly get theme park ads, but I've seen a few Kong ads now and then and there's several people in my area that have heard about it, which is weird considering how rare they are in my area besides a generic Disney ad.

I love the Universal Marketing for Kong. It's a big plus and very impressive. They've done the big guy good.

I wish the lights on the temple were red. The just "light" light is weird on it.

But isn't supposed to be a flame? That's not red.

Keep in mind that he has used the camera/photoshop to make the image brighter than what you'll see in reality. Think of how dark Hogwarts actually is in reality versus all the "bright" looking images you can find of it online.

And it has to be "natural lit" because the lower halves of the channels on either side of the entry door will have flame pots that flare up each time a vehicle goes by.. but i didnt tell you that because it's a spoiler-free thread.

I was out in Utah last month and at least 3 people I talked to knew about this ride, it was insane to me that they've heard of it.
