That's part of the motion base. I always wondered why they wouldn't place fake plants and shrubbery to hide the motion base, I'm sure they could make it work.

EDIT: Just realized that it wouldn't make sense when you're supposed to be moving around a lot but the plants are staying still.

There actually is fake shrubbery in the 360 scene but you're just past it when you stop.

This ride seems to be a lot like Gringotts', where seating gives you a different experience. This is going to be one of those attractions, like Gringotts', that get's more enjoyable the more you ride it. And that's the way great rides are.

Very true. I'm not crazy about Gringotts because I felt it could be so much better. I still feel that way to an extent. I think I'm warming up to it more after 2 years of being open. That's another one I was in the last row for yesterday and that was by far my best ride on it. I just wish it as a little more thrilling

Back to Kong, I'll just say that the AA is incredible. The size and movements are amazing. The ride is almost worth it for that alone

went today ride had low wait.Although im not happy BC it seems that they got rid of single riders and express now goes through where the singles used to.It no longer merges it goes straight to the ride.

I rode Kong yesterday and was told single riders line was not open. I'm not sure if this was just because the wait was 20 minutes or if it is a permanent thing. SpiderMan and The Hulk also had theirsingle rider lines closed when the wait time was listed at 10 minutes for both, so I'm thinking they were closed since the regular lines were so short.

I think they switched on the Express for Kong too early.

It sure kicked the wait times up. Lines are just as long, if not longer, as they were when the park had summer crowds.

Yeah yesterday Kong was a mess for us. We waited 4 hours in line and then the ride broke down and then they kicked us out of the line...We used our "golden express pass tickets" they gave us when we left the line a few hours later and then as we were about to go into the loading station the ride broke down for a good 40 minutes...
From what I noticed they only filled up the front two rows with the people from the regular line (which was why it was a 120 minute wait) and the rest with express pass. Odd.
My other friends said that the regular line moved really slow so that was probably why. We found it annoying haha.

and this is why you wont see express on potter any time soon.20-30 percent of the parks will have express people and if they all pack in the popular attractions you will wait double to triple the wait.

The ride sure had its fair share of problems over the weekend. Finally got to ride it on Sunday afternoon. Posted wait time was 150 minutes but we stayed on-site so we were fortunate enough to use Express. This instantly became one of my favorite attractions at Universal. We sat in row 3 on the left side and had the native girl as our driver. Pretty sure everything worked 100% for our ride. That AA was incredible. The only negative I had was the theming from the 360 room to the final room with the big guy himself. Can't wait to ride this again next time we head back to IOA!!

I always find it so odd when an attraction poops it's pants out of the blue like this; and for an extended periods of time...

I am always curious what the issues that arise might be.

Ironic you should mention that because I just looked up current Maine allergies yesterday because I have been having issues. Ragweed was at the top of the current allergens.

It was down for a while on Saturday. We finally got in line in the middle of the afternoon and they experienced technical difficulties twice. We made it to the witch room and then they announced it would be down for roughly 45 minutes so we left because I wasn't going to listen to her repeat over and over again while we waited for the ride to open back up. On Sunday it had a delayed opening. When we got in the Express line it was all the back to the entrance, but moved pretty quickly and we got on in about 40 minutes. Well worth the wait!!

Reason I heard was one of the vehicles was inop so they had to switch it out. Maybe it is not charging correctly or it may be the control system but I am not surprised they would have problems with a "new" vehicle. Get a year on them with all the connections being subjected to vibration, heat and cool cycles and you could say the connections are proven but all it takes is one cold solder joint or a binding post being slightly loose then it goes into safe mode. Can take months for these to show up on new cars so with these custom built chassis you have more places for errors in assembly to creep in.

Hope they got delivery on the 5th truck
