I believe someone posted photos on the FB group. Walls are still up but they are testing with passengers (not guests).

Edit: I went back and looked at the comments, someone said those were old photos.

In addition to the technical problems, I heard from an Insider last week that Universal Marketing was pushing hard against an early soft opening because it would hurt their selling of vacation packages. Apparently that happened with HP Hollywood.

I don't get this hackneyed play on bananas unless marketing is merely feeling goofy lately.

It is normally a reference to the Despicable Me Minions...They are obsessed with bananas..I wouldn't read into it as soft openings are not normally advertised anywhere

They're also probably really into messing with people now. They know Kong at this point has most really on their toes for anything.

Personally I think it was an intentional tease for those waiting on Kong to soft open. If so I think it's great that they have a sense of humor about it and help a little to keep the hype going.

How exactly did you come to the definitive conclusion that it's Minions related? It's connected to Gwen Stefani more than anything.

One doesn't have to stare at the UO account very long to know that they are pretty laid back. They have goofy back-and-forths with Tim Tracker and HTF constantly.

Yeah, I'm fairly certain it was very subtle tease. There's nothing going on with Minions right now. They didn't reference Minions in any way. It's just one of those things that could mean anything, but the timing is obvious.
