The quality and entertainment value of the attraction holds up well. The 2012 refurb really freshened up the ride. I can ride it tons of times on every vacation and it never gets old. They sure hit a grandslam when they developed this attraction. It's timeless.

If they keep rebooting the Spiderman movies, is it really timeless? I have no knowledge of any of the characters on the Spiderman ride. Not a comics person. Love the ride though. I just cant tell you who he is saving the people from.

Yes, those are the classic villains from the comics. Most of them made their appearances during the early years of Spidey and are iconic in their own right.

Will be interesting to see if Universal keeps that ride the way it is in 10 years.

Ehhhhhhhhhh. Only Doc Ock and Electro are really "classic". Maybe Hobgoblin. Hydro-Man has never been more than a second tier villain, and Scream is nothing.

Still, only two of them were in movies, so it really doesn't matter how many times they reboot movies.

well the ride is mostly based on the 90s animated series which being 20 years now would make it a classic

Something cool I was shown earlier today: Disney reused the 3D model of HD Spidey recently on their "Ultimate Spider-Man" cartoon. They added the circular web between the eyes, updated the costume design, and animated more expression, but otherwise it's the exact same model, rigging, and texturing. Makes me wish the ride used this updated version.

Apparently Universal deleted their teaser site that had all the teaser clips. Does anyone have the video files? This is the only video I've been able to locate, but it's extraordinarily low quality.

This video has a few more quick clips but not the full length ones like you might be looking for.

Not sure if it has been mentioned, but I rode Spiderman yesterday...There is some new projection mapping on the elevation scene after Doc Oc hits us with the levitation ray

You can see people in the windows now and some dimension to the buildings

I'm getting nauseous re-watching the clip and trying to find the difference.

I can tell that is a lot brighter than it use to be and the building dimensions look more 3d.

Occasional plussing like this really makes me happy. Well done Universal. Not only did one of the best dark rides on the planet get a full animation upgrade years ago but they're still adding and improving. A+

It's essentially projection mapping rather than the scrolling rectangles

It caught me off guard a bit my first run
