Well since its out I can comment on this without fear of prosecution by Universal security guards now. The final revision from months ago placed Androids in place of Taco Italiano. But it will strictly be a facade. It was a change I was not allowed to talk about at all due to the sensitive timing. But since its out, I'll confirm Androids is coming.

That's really awesome! I know that it's just a facade, but it'll add so much visual interest to the area and make a great photo op. And it's so much more memorable a locale than Taco Italiano. I can't wait to see all the gag comic book covers in the window!

Ditto! I think it's much better to have The Android's Dungeon there, if only facade.


So then, TAD's facade will be the left side of the bathrooms' building, as seen here?

The Monongahela Monster! I don't remember it being on top of a building, but its been many years.

It was on top of the stage building by the water. Then they put in some other ride that I thought was awful. Of course I was VERY young and could be mixing things up.

The Kennywood Monongahela Monster was on top of the former lagoon building next to the bridge. That area was leveled & is now a show area. Prior to the Monongahela Monster they had the Rocket ride on that platform.

Wasn't the rocket ride after the monongahela monster? Didn't know that building has been leveled. Haven't been there in ages. When mu LOs are a little older I want to add a day to my yearly trip up there and take them to kiddie land. I had such great memories of that place.

Are there any elements of the expansion that I'm missing? I haven't really been keeping up, but the finished product will be:

The Simpsons ride, Midway games, Moes, Kentucky Fried Panda, Krusty Burger, Android's, Lard Lad, Kwik-E Mart, Duff Gardens, Kodos and Kang Spinner? Am i missing anything? Although this seems like a small expansion, when you look at it, the finished product looks to be quite extensive. I'm sure plenty of other hidden extras are on the way as well...

Awesome! Can't wait to see the end result! My only worry is that, with such a fast pace and hectic environment, I really hope they do not overlook the fine details. That said, I have full faith in Universal Creative.

I believe it will just be a façade with a walkway to the main dining room behind it. No, I do not expect any structural changes to Kwik-E-MArt.

Izzy B; Sorry to get off topic, but to answer your question. There were silver rockets on the lagoon platform in the 50s, 60s and early 70s. There may have been a ride after the Monongahela Monster, but I'm not sure. There was also a ride called "The Octopus" that was very similar to the flat rides they've been describing on this thread. It was located next to the Carousel by the Paratrooper. It had a name changed a few times so you may be thinking of that ride since it was ground level and not on a platform. The Octopus ended up at Idlewild with a different name. I rode it in the 90's at Idlewild and was motion sick for a good while. Kennywood had a habit of shuffling rides off to IdleWild and the New England park they owned, and then bringing them back a number of years later under different names. So names get confusing and were sometimes interchangeable with different attractions.

Looks like Krusty Burger's walls got up judging by the color:
