I'll never understand the underlying animosity towards George Lucas. Damned if he does, damned if he doesn't. Don't show up, and he's ungrateful. Show up, and he's a money-hungry Star Whore with nothing better to do with his time.
The money-hungry argument always gets me the most. Why? Because the guy has consistently turned his assets back into revolutionizing the film industry, including non-linear (digital) editing, Pixar, digital effects and animation, digital film and projection --- all of which wouldn't exist without his direct interest, foresight, and investment. That's a far cry from taking the money to buy an island and drink pina coladas all day.
Of course he's profited personally from it as well. He'd be an idiot not to. But that being said, how about this:

But concerning the constant bashing of the prequels, Jar Jar, etc.... A serious question: If you don't like it, why do you care? I'm not particularly a fan of Harry Potter, but I certainly don't feel the need to read it, watch it, post about how dumb I may think it is, and blast J.K. Rowling about how much money she squanders. Because, simply put: It's not for me, so let it be.
But, as they say:
My outlook on Star Wars: The original trilogy made me a lifelong fan. The prequels are supplemental to the originals, and I'm glad to have them. Would I be a Star Wars fan if the prequels were the only trilogy? Probably not. But I like them for what they are, and if I didn't... I would stick to my Han Solo shirts and NOT BOTHER WITH THE PREQUELS.
And for the record, as an old school fan: The Clone Wars is the best show on t.v. right now.
