Vaugh has been far from confirmed. I wouldnt count on him. Allegedly he's going to direct some movie called Secret Service or something? He's working with Mark Millar on that I think.

I'm not sure at all who I'd like to see direct. Someone new and cutting edge hopefully.

Pure joy for this is running through me, even though sadness from other matters is enveloping me like a cloud.

Trepidation?! Arndt is one of the brightest minds in post-modernist screenwriting.

"Post-modernist screenwriting" = trepidation

His movies have sucked, IMO.

Yup. Absolutely hated it. Watched it in the theater and couldn't wait for it to be over. Gave it another shot on Netflix and turned it off less than half way through.

Little Miss Sunshine was a very well received and reviewed movie, and TS3 was better than part 2 IMHO, not to mention he's going Catching Fire as well AND another Pixar project, I would say its in good hands...

Little Miss Sunshine isn't Star Wars, TS3 isn't Star Wars. Pixar isn't Star Wars.

Catching Fire is the closest, but is still more in his wheelhouse due to the melodrama and the like.

I just don't think the guy is right for SW. At all.

NOTHING is Star Wars dude, literally nothing, not even LOTR or Hobbit, so as long as its a young bright, great screenwriter, you can only be happy.

I mean, you may hate it and all, but the majority did praise the movies he has written.

Also, when I think Star Wars, I don't necessarily think of incredible cinematic dialogue in writing. I think of quote-able fun with a phenomenon that started with a fun concept.

Which is my problem with this guy.

At the most, TS3 and LMS are the same. Heartwarming movies filled with melodrama. Fun isn't a word I'd use for them.

Well they apparently are close.

Spotting producer Frank Marshall, husband of Lucasfilm's new president Kathleen Kennedy, at the The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 premiere last night, MTV tried getting him to talk about whether he knows who they may be approaching and his response is somewhat heartening that we'll get an answer to that burning question soon.

"I do (know) but I can't reveal it, or I won't be alive tomorrow," he said. "I'm really excited about this. I didn't grow up with it, but I was a big fan and have been since the series started. I'll always remember seeing that big mothership go over the screen. I've never forgotten it. I can't wait to see what's next."

I would absolutely love Bird, after how he was able to make the absolute best MI movie of the series, BY FAR, and his work with The Incredibles, this guy is a star and needs a huge film like this to truly propel him to the next level of directors.
