They don't even have a name for the rides or stores that inhabit it yet.

Also...I think it would be cool if the "cast members" actually wore alien make up/costumes, but I would imagine that would be way too expensive

Isn't the made up planet thing basically so they don't have to get it "right?"

I wanted to see a Deluxe Hotel themed to the new Star Wars land used as backdrop for the area, one where the design of the hotel and it's varying in height towers would give it a much more real feel especially at night with the room lights constantly changing. To see what I'm talking about, 5he African themed Hotel at Phantasialand in Germany that half circles it's Africa section of the park.

To be hknest, I always and still think Star War's is big enough as a stand alone park of it's own, even with an accompanying water park based on a system out there somewhere. The hotel would be much like the buildings AKL where the wings would be themed to the land it overlooks.

I don't think it's that, per se, I just don't think there's any single one location from any of the movies that best represents the overall Star Wars experience, and very few of them that would easily translate into a theme park environment, especially since the original movies follow the classic sci-fi tropes of desert planets or ice planets or forest planets. A planet unique to the park would allow all of those best elements to be merged together, and that seems to be what we're seeing with this concept art, with shades of Tatooine, Kashyyyk, Naboo, etc. This also allows for a more timeless Star Wars environment, even though it will probably technically be set within the era of the new trilogy, while still evoking feelings of the overall saga.

I believe the name of the new planet is "Mashup Major".

I could actually see a kind of a cool backstory derived from almost a literal translation of that idea. Say that the Outer Rim planets became a very chaotic, even more dangerous than usual place after the fall of the Empire, and people from all of those cultures came to this hidden planet as a refuge.

I wouldn't give up on that idea just yet because apparently that's what they're going for

^ who knows, perhaps they might be able to create a head wear... some type of hat thing that could simulate tentacles. like those Jabba's Palace Dancers.
It just has to be something that can be easily remove, because if it get too complicated with make up and stuff, it might not last long. Just a thought.

I can see that, the twiliek dancers were in the concept art so a daily body paint with a hat as you said would work fine. I think most aliens in the Star Wars universe are impossible to portray through costume. I'm expecting AAs with voice controls from a hidden imagineer to order food and other stuff. Like the fountain in IOA

I mean, they already do that in Diagon, I'd assume we'll see that somewhere in Star Wars

The Money Exchange goblin.

Also the fountain at IOA, Roz at the Monsters ride in California Adventure, Turtle Talk with Crush, Mr Potato Head at Toy Story Mania...probably more but that's off the top of my head.

Meh, that seems like something that a chinese park would do to get around copyrights. "Hey look its the Mos Desert Cantina and the StarWok village!". I guess after seeing what Universal did with Hogsmeade and Diagon, I really wanted to step into the SW movies.

The more I read your guys thoughts the less I like Star Wars Patch Cloth Land.
I don't want it to be everything, I want it to be one thing but done perfectly. That one thing, whatever it is, that makes me feel I'm in that UNIQUE place. I want to recognize what I've seen in the movie because it's done like the movie. Sure they need to flesh it out with stuff but at least I will be there and not in a theme park, not in Star Wars Land but there on that planet. That is what is so (dare I say it) "magical" at the Potter area's.
Hell they even try it at AK with Pandora but no one cares (or at least no one with tast in movies).

But it won't, it will be patchwork land and the only question that should be on our minds is; Will the Millennium Falcon in the artwork below shoot lazers or breath fire?

Now that's a humorous post. I am laughing so hard. "Star Wars Patch Cloth Land". "Will the Millennium Falcon in the artwork below shoot lazers or breathe fire?" Brilliant
