I think for a non spoiler kinda round up for me: The good outweighed the bad for the other Disney films, but for me watching this one the bad outweighed the good. There are definitely some nice moments here and there, but it mainly just falls flat. Thats my final thoughts.

Oh, and the whole General Hux thing didn't just make him a bitch that got shot unceremoniously, but it also very weirdly changes how I feel about RotR now since Hux has an Animatronic standing right next to Kylo.

Honestly, I'm not sure I can look at any part of that ride the same anymore now that I know how the trilogy ends up. I'm glad I got on before seeing the movie.

IDK, I think the Hux subplot adds more tension and depth to the AA scene in RotR. We know something Ren doesn't.

Gonna be a slightly long post going through some things. Just letting my mind wander.
Lot's of unnecessary character's in the film. Lots of characters wasted. Lots of plot conveniences. Lot's of fan service moments. Let's go over some.

Unnecessary Characters:
- Zorri Bliss (Keri Russell)
- Lando Calrissian
- Han Solo
- Luke Skywalker
- Jannah (Ally that falls for Finn)
- Red Stormtroopers
- D-O (droid)

Wasted Characters:
- Red Storm Troopers
- Rose Tico
- R2-D2
- BB-8 (it feels like he wasn't even in the freakin film yet always around)
- Knights of Ren

Fan Service:
- Palpatine story line
- Luke Skywalker force ghost
- Luke's lightsaber
- Red Five
- Han Solo in Kylo's "dream" sequence... although it was hardly a dream.
- Reylo
- "Rey Skywalker"
- Death Star
- Leia Organa (i'll give that they had to finish her story based on where TLJ left off)
- Burial of lightsabers on Tatooine at the Lars' old residence where Luke grew up.
- Half the movie?

Almost all of the fan service stuff plays a big part in the movie and it does so negatively. R2-D2 was wasted the entire franchise in favor of BB-8, who was around all of this movie, but not even used. And I think the movie would've been perfectly fine without most if not all of the characters I listed under unnecessary. Most were just around to sell action figures. I get Leia's story had to be finished, but working around the old footage noticeably affected the movie.

I would add:

Fan Service:
- Half of the dialogue (ex: Han's final words being "I know")
- Chewy getting his medal

You forgot to add one to...
Knights of Ren. After all the teasing of them, we got f'ing nothing and them killed by Kylo in his sweats. So disappointing.

Not sure how I forgot them. I added them as that was a huge miss for the trilogy, not just the movie.

So far the audience score is double that of TLJ despite TLJ having a high critic rating and ROS below 60%. While it's funny that it seems critics and Star Wars fans seem to want totally different things out of a movie, I think i'm closer to most of the critics on this one than this audience score. We'll see if it can maintain that score.

I always think its the fact that Star Wars fans like a film only a certain way, regardless of its better or not. Its what they used to call the New Coke Issue. When Coke was being beaten by Pepsi, they figured it was because it was sweeter. So they came up with a new formula and in every single blind taste test, New Coke came out ahead. So they were sure they had a hit... but then... fiasco. What happened? Once the label was on they expected Coke to taste like Coke. Didn't matter if it was better or not. It was different and betrayed the label.

Which one? At one point he said it would a TV series since it would all be about Politics in the new Republic. (Yeah, George made it up as he went along too... he just had better writers to reign it in).

And honestly, after the prequels, I don't really care what George Lucas's plans were.

On a lighter note, I read this on another site and I'd watch this on Disney+

I want the Ben/Rey sitcom where they’re constantly force stealing objects that the other one is holding.

I mean that's what happens when JJ decides to try and make 2 movies in one because he feels like Rian broke his toys. Instead of working with the intriguing setup he was given, he had a tantrum and started from scratch.

I'm sure Lucas had a story, but was it any good is the question. Just because Disney threw out his idea does not make them the bad guys.

If we're being serious about Disney+, i'd totally watch a Poe & Finn show. Maybe just Poe. Oscar Isaac is a busy man though and an actor that i'd think would take a lot to get on a streaming service though.

Sadly, John Boyega has already said he's not doing a thing for Disney+. Id casually watch a show with them as well or a show with Poe's back story. I thought he and Zora or whatever her name was were intriguing characters and had decent chemistry but it was just another thing that went absolutely nowhere. That being said, id be interested in learning more about Poe. Finn they clearly can't write for so I'm fine if they never bother with him again.

In this age where the lines of TV and Film are sort of blurring together at points and the quality product and money being poured into streaming services, John Boyega is dumb as all hell for saying he'd never do Disney+. I'm sure his agent is trying to walk that back internally.

My biggest issue -
If Force Ghosts can catch lightsabers and lift X-Wings from the water, then why in the ever-loving F is their biggest contribution in the final battle telling Rey to “Stand up?”

Like, why aren’t the ghosts fighting this war? I feel like ghosts fighting for the Resistance would have given them a pretty massive advantage.

It wouldn't shock me if this does the worst out of the 3 films. In general theres some Star Wars fatigue, I think a lot of fans won't be seeing this twice like other films, feels like there has been less marketing for it, and there's also The Mandalorian out there for some people to wet their Star Wars appetite. I think there will be tons of factors as to why this film won't do as well. Should be interesting.

Joker will earn more than TROS. I will even go as far to predict that this movie will not crack a billion. That’s my prediction.
