State of USH - What's Next?

Listen, I get it. It costs a lot of money to pay everyone and operate everything. But on a hot, sunny Friday in late May, *why* are we opening at 9AM closing at 6PM?

I love the park but the hours have been so low, we have had three days weekends and other busy times like spring break where the park closes before 8 and if your there its still packed and they are pushing people out

I hope F&F draws enough people to be opened later or else....like really whats the point of opening new rides just to close at the same time?

My fingers are crossed that coming soon at least Fridays are open to 8 or 9 and more weekdays as a well, just to put this in perspective for everyone SIX Flags has been having late night hours for MM for over 6 months on fridays and for sure USH is getting more guests then Six Flags MM

Mostly just coming here to say I think the last AP take over event might have been the best one yet

The characters were out dancing with the DJ on the upper lot, low wait times on most rides (though I do hear MK and the Tram seem to have spikes) but I walked on the Tram, The Mummy, Jurassic and SLOP took 10 mins,

The free coke I lined up for before it opened and didn't take long

They also had three Hogwarts castle shows (the OG one) and they had fireworks as well.

So I really enjoyed the event and wanted to thank USH for a good time, not many parks offer these kind of free perks to APs any more so thank you

The creator of the Simpsons has now gone on record and stated that him and Universal have had meetings about the Simpsons RIDE (mentioned in the context of horror nights). Do we think a contract extension is in the works?

Rumored Plan I heard was a little more like this.

I heard this rumor in 2020, so I've no idea if its still in their plans considering the pandemic may have changed things.

I joined the forumns only this year so I was going through some ancient scrolls and this really suprised me... did anything ever come out of this? I would love for this to still happen

After Mega Movie summer we are back to normal hours, closing at 6 or 7 PM most nights....I guess USH assumes the coaster isn't going to draw enough people to be able to stay open to 8 PM most days

Im curious if they anticipate either;

A) Periodic shut downs considering the uphill battle theyre still facing (imagine when people are on it)
B) People riding F&F and just leaving

B is self explanatory for lesser hours, but A I mean they may not want to do a full 12 hours and risk overloading the newly trained workers and freshly opened ride causing more problems

Now that F&F is almost officially open, I want to throw in my two cents as to what I think is next.

What *should* be next is replacing Supercharged. The Tram needs some help so I hope they are prioritizing putting something in that large building sitting empty.

Once that's done, I have to what wonder what type of standalone ride is next. I won't complain about another dark ride, but the park already has a solid collection of them. I don't think the park is desperate for another one.

What I do think the park should focus on is another coaster of some sort. I understand all of the challenges and the noise complaints, believe me...but I don't think a single ride has garnered this much buzz at USH like F&F. Even anecdotally a lot of my friends are bugging me about when and "how" they can ride it. You can also see it with the guest feedback of Mario Kart when it opened when the ride was said to be "too slow". People want something fast and thrilling and people are responding. That's why I think the park will probably look into (And probably WILL) look into putting another coaster in the park.

That being said, it for sure won't be another big intense outdoor coaster. The ride sounds like it was a logistical nightmare to clear, but they got it done. I think that's the only major thrill coaster the park will get. With the major thrill itch being scratched, what they should have is an intermediate family thrill coaster....something well-themed, but a good in-between of the kiddie coaster that is Hippogriff and the crazy thrills of F&F. Something like Hagrid's would be amazing as they can use the current Tram loading plaza for such a ride. It likely wouldn't be Hagrid's but at least something of a similar calibur.

I would also like to see the Mummy get replaced with a better indoor coaster.

Well I will echo my comments on the Mummy thread

I want a people eating Dark ride at the level of Epic

Mummy works for what it is, if your fine with the lack of themeing of Fast then the Mummy is a perfect family coaster. It has themeing, goes fast and is just fun, its too short kind of but that will be the problem with a new coaster as well

But really what I want is another land, the park needs just more space. Orlando got an entire theme park so even if we get two new lands in 10 years thats just nothing and USH pulls solid numbers and I think is worth the investment

If they have to "cut" costs during the hotel being built then I hope the Tram gets a new attraction at the end of it (Great Movie Clone...please), Dreamworks theater gets How to Train Your Dragon or Shrek, and another event in the start of the year like Lunar New Years, Food and Wine or even just an celebration of animated characters whatever they think of would be nice fillers before we get new things

I have no idea whats up with simpsons so no comment on that....I'd think its going away but seems like with new food times plus Tree house of Horror stuff coming...feels like it could also just be staying now

Replace Mummy with an indoor Intamin multi-dimensional coaster themed to all the Universal Monsters. After that give Transformers the Pokemon treatment.
