Honestly, the Studio Tour experience should be that we board the tram, slide down the row, and immediately get off the other side of the tram. Ten seconds tops, that way no one ever has to worry about needing to go to the bathroom or encountering a celebrity they don’t know or stopping for a production they have no clue about.
But seriously, like… I can’t wrap my head around this. “If it’s a celebrity I like and know, then I’m all for the tram stopping for a few extra minutes! But if I don’t know them? Ugh. Pass.” Incredibly selfish, IMO, because even if only 10% of the people on a tram know a celebrity, why shouldn’t they be able to have an experience like this that bolsters their whole day just because you personally don’t know or care about said celebrity? I know a number of people who used to watch Reba and Shameless years ago who would’ve loved to have encountered these two, for instance, and that would’ve made my day seeing them happy even if it doesn’t matter to me.
The Studio Tour isn’t a private VIP experience for you and you alone, and it feels like less and less that any celebrity, regardless of their status, has any interest in interacting with it, but here we are complaining that it finally happened once. If it made even just a handful of people’s day, then it’s worth it, because that’s the whole point. Yet if it had been Spielberg or something, people would be cheering instead of complaining despite the fact none of those same people would stop to see the irony that suddenly they don’t care about the guests on that tram who would still absolutely not care (or possibly even understand), either.
