YES. I forgot to mention this. I will take Supercharged any day over the dancing cars on sticks and that horrible Mummy tunnel.

I think the people that thought this was going to be a full on ride where the ones who are giving it a negative review. I'm sure they expected a 4min plus attraction. Kong is short and it takes place in the day time but with more darker elements...but anyways I saw some footage and the CGI looks a bit strange, so I'm going to wait for a 1080p upload to watch it.

Yeah, not really. Everyone that went on it last night were employees or guests of employees. That may be the lone group who expected it to be what it is.

I did watch the entire ride portion on three instagram videos... so... yea. I can kind of see where people are coming from. I'll still wait, though.

As William said, it IS a matter of opinion. And we do have high expectations.

That said, my opinion based on high expectations is this is just plain bad. Maybe if I had had low expectations I would have loved it. Perhaps that's what Universal is hoping for – people with low expectations.

Allen The Actor said:
That was never confirmed, nor does that seem like something that would be implemented, that was simply a rumor on here. That'd be far too complicated and wouldn't make sense, since each tram car can't drive by itself, so it wouldn't make sense story wise, etc.

The middle room was kind of cool. The screens that enclose each tram car worked well and actually made story sense. This is where the acting was at its most horrible. They all looked so uncomfortable. But the effect almost worked. It was fun.

The "main room" has a great beginning - you really feel that the tram takes off at high speed. But the CG is horrible. So horrible it was distracting. The vehicles that are supposed to be driving next to us seem to be floating above the road. And they like like a two pass After Effects model. Truly awful.

Yes, I had high expectations. I knew that in the end it was going to another 3D movie where the seats shake and they spray water but I was expecting something above the King Kong experience. I feel we got less.

^ you didn't have to quote that quote of mine ;) I later retracted my statement a few weeks later once I got inside info on what was meant by "screens that enclose the tram", I originally had a different visual in my head.

Overall, I'm going in with lowered expectations and want to just have fun.

I'm just disappointed that everyone is saying it's worse than Kong. I was at least hoping for something more advanced and fun and immersive in the 4 or so years after Kong opened.

As for CGI being bad? That's unacceptable. Especially from a studio....and for such a major attraction? Come on, UC....

One if the main reasons you can't beat something like Earthquake.

Question for those who have already experienced:

If King Kong 360-3D didn't exist, and this was an entirely new experience in your eyes, do you think you'd enjoy it more?

I was hoping ILM or Digital Domain would do the CGI for this. That's a bummer.

It looks fine. Not sure what people are complaining about. And based on that video the ride portion is 90 seconds just like King Kong. People like to overact a bit.

That's good to know. Sounds like its exactly what I was expecting it to be, minus the KUKA drone I was hoping to see. It's a shame that they didn't take advantage of any practical effects in the main room. That would've been amazing to see.

My take...

The story is a mess.  The acting is 1980's television bad.  Only The Rock can take poor writing and pull it off.  The actors were stiff and seem to be reading their lines from a queue card...and it shows.

There was a little too much skin showing on the club girls and mild swearing which is unfortunate because we cannot choose to skip the attraction while on the tour.  Parental discretion now requires that the entire Studio Tour be skipped.

The CGI of the city was not my problem, the integration of the actors into the video made the show look cheesy...especially when Vin Diesel jumped onto the helicopter.

There were a few "hidden mickey" items which were fun, but this is another Extreme Close-Up where I may not even wear my glasses in the future.

I am quite disappointed.  Even though I knew what the attraction was supposed to look like.  My frustration came with the acting and directing from the creators of this attraction.  This was poor for the F&F franchise and for Universal Theme Parks.

4/10 rating!

I agree, the acting is lame, for the most part. And the CGI, if it can even be called that, is horrendous. The screens aren't tall enough either, I could clearly see the ceiling.

The interior of the entrance is beautiful, though, and very well themed.

Fast and the furious was a disappointment with what my cousin had showed me . Not worth the $240 million and I would give it a 3/10 rating ! I agree with a lot what Raven had to say about it .
