I liked Gasolina more than Supercharged. I dunno why, but the short runtime allowed it to be a small blurb that was incredibly stupid (but at the same time fun to watch if for the lulz)

It also was a testing ground for Harry Potter. What's Supercharged's excuse?

Supercharged was a testing ground for our collective patience.

The reports of its closure were premature.

I like the idea of a Twister(s) comeback, but I think that should be a standalone attraction. Something like Danse Macabre at Efteling would make a great ride system for something like that.

The only thing is that there are already two attractions on the Tram that are themed to natural disasters, so I think a little more “variety” would be preferable.

If they HAVE to keep the speed tunnel (Which I hope they don’t) then I think BTTF would be the best choice for a reskin. The preferable choice in my book would be to make a fully fleshed-out Skull Island experience and tear down 360. We can also get the collapsing bridge back and get rid of 3D on the tour. “I see this as an absolute WIN!”

Yeah, but Twisters as a standalone might not last in the long run, as it is unlikely to have a franchise in the future, so having Twisters as part of the Studio Tour will at least raise more interest among the guests. You're right about the Studio Tour needing a little more “variety”, but the Earthquake acts like a normal earthquake attraction (with no mentioning of the 1974 film at all), whereas Twisters would be more aligned with the defunct Twister ride at USF, similar to the current King Kong 3D ride within the Studio Tour.

As for BTTF, I don't think it will come back again, but I would love to see it as part of the nighttime tour in the Courthouse Square, like the Minecraft version of Universal Studios released last year. The collapsing bridge should also be brought back to replace King Kong 3D as well, but I doubt it unfortunately.

I disagree. Twisters did solid when it released, but I'm skeptical that the IP will have longevity after a one-off sequel.

BTTF is also an older property, but it has a significantly larger fanbase, and it seems to be much more beloved in general. I'd still argue a finale with multiple classic properties (BTTF, E.T., ect) is the best way to go.

Include Twister(s) with the classic IPs and boom. That would be really cool

Why are we still talking about Twisters? The attempt to relaunch the franchise failed. It did fine in the US but flamed out overseas.

I mean we can speculate about whatever we want here, I don't see why you need to have an attitude about it. Also if you're going to go by that logic, WaterWorld still got a show even though the movie flopped big time. They could've easily canceled it after the movie failed but they didn't and it's still going strong at the park. It also helps that Twister(s) is a legacy IP and the fact that it was a success in the states is fuel enough to warrant some representation of it back in the parks. It also did great on streaming.

Because Glen Powell is handsome and the world needs a little bit more of him in theme parks.

It's not attitude, it's exasperation - I am genuinely not sure why we keep circling back to it. It's not even something that translates easily to the type of screen-driven, largely simulation-only ride we're talking about!

WaterWorld is an exception, not a rule. It was taking over an existing stunt show arena, and it was already in production by the time the film flopped. If they had already announced a Twisters experience by now, we wouldn't be having this conversation, naturally... but that moment has passed.

Good domestic numbers generally isn't enough anymore for a movie of this scope. Doing great on Peacock, one of the lowest performers of the major streamers, also does not necessarily mean it did great on streaming.

I get the enthusiasm, but we really shouldn't be expecting anything Twister-related for the parks, here or elsewhere.

In addition to all this, Twister/Twisters has rather limited merchandise potential compared to most other Universal IPs, which is one of the most essential criteria for what does and does not get an attraction these days.

That's if they even keep the screens. We have no idea what they're replacing Supercharged with or how they're going about it. I would hope they would do something more ambitious beyond just new videos and set dressing.

Why are we even referring to Twisters as a "franchise"? It's not even a sequel or connected to the original.

Excuse me. But you can slap a flying cow on everything! Also sell a plush cow. Funko Pop Twister with a cow & Dorothy (the weather tracker, not the Wicked Witch killer).

If we're stuck with screenzilla 2.0 (Kong being 1.0), then give us a BTTF style acceleration intro followed by a Great Movie Ride montage rip-off of Universal films complete with the heartstring tugging E.T. score flying moment as we safely arrive back at the theme park.
