That tram has been sitting there for awhile with those bags. They’ve been putting them on the electric trams and taking them through the whole route. Not saying it has nothing to do with Supercharged replacement, but last I heard was that supercharged building was gonna sit quiet for a little bit.

I'm surprised that they'd let the Studio Tour be down an experience for an indefinite period like that.

I’m guessing here, but perhaps they want to get a little farther on Hollywood Drift before working on the Supercharged replacement. Also, assuming it’s a 2027 or 2028 opening they don’t have to rush on working on the replacement. But that’s all guessing on my part.

Those were/are in the maintenance/refurb category.

I was reacting to the implication that Universal is in no rush to "complete" the Studio Tour experience with a new finale.

With the attraction being so long (and very flexible), I don’t think they need to rush. Not rushing doesn’t mean ignoring. The Studio Tour does need a reworking in general as far as presentation, but it’s still the highest rated attraction at the park. Any negative marks were due to the portion they just closed.

I understand all that. Earthquake was still down for its refresh when I visited, and I still thought it was an excellent attraction.

But whatever we think of Supercharged (I think it's complete junk!), it was a significant piece of the attraction as one of its headlining scenes, so Universal should attempt to find some way to offset that loss of value* to the rider. Or keep it active until they're ready to swiftly replace it (which is how I also feel about it in Orlando, even as I desperately want it gone from USF).

At minimum, in the meantime, they should try to rework the order of the scenes on the Tour so that it ends with one of the more premiere, "E-ticket" scenes. I don't know how logistically feasible that is, though.

*Not of Superchaged, specifically, but of what it was meant to function as in the larger Studio Tour.

I am in the minority I'm sure

But I'm fine saving 10 mins of my life, would I like it replaced 100% but also I would like it to be something more enjoyable.

Like the Tram now is such a good length and I know they could it but it was my favorite current version of the tram until they took the BTTF stuff down

The last two months have been nice getting BTTF section and the tram being under an hour

Really the only thing I'm missing is Jurassic Park now being apart of the tram and with the dino's being moved that seems dead which sucks because what a waste of a area to make it storage or whatever it is.

I know they wont but it would be cool if we could exit kong and they could use the collapsing bridge with some jurassic stuff and have another attraction on the tram and wont not eat up too much time and be something physical to show off instead of another screen attraction

A train from Shiz to Oz using the existing screen seems like the easiest move to me. Would obviously need a complete rebuild on the show building and preshow, though.

My question (and I don’t really have an opinion either way) — will Wicked still have unique relevance in 2027 or 2028?

Its been a relevant musical on Broadway for 10+ years... also... JAWS turns 50.. the Studio Tour relies on old IPs

Yeah, the legacy IPs being present on the tour are why I'm in the camp that BTTF should take it over. I feel like that'd have more staying power.

I love BTTF and would not be made if it came back to the park

But Wicked is not some one hit wonder, the Broadway show is still going strong. Also I think people forget how many people love OZ, Disney to this day is still trying to get its own version of OZ for its self but has failed every time its tried.

Either would be a good choice.

Or like we could get a great movie ride in that building and allow it to feature the classics but also allow them to add new things yearly if they wanted to promote new films At least if your going to use screen make use of them and add new characters, lines, music and movies

I know some people don't mind screen but....for me they suck when done like USH has done in the past like the new rides/shows at Epic use them in a very good way to enhance things but when its just a big screen I find it boring...especially on a studio tour where I'm here to see real sets, props and we have physical attractions like Earth quake, the flash flood.
Hell I know I'm in the minority but I like Nope more then another screen attraction, my favorite part of the tram for me is still New York/the courthouse square because its just so impressive to look at....for me screens are kinda just boring and lazy at least when used at USH for the most part

So if we are going to just reuse the screen again, I would be down for it be something they can somewhat change so at least it using tech to the fullest of there ability

unfortunately I don’t think wicked would be a good attraction, people do not like musicals, even tho wicked is different.

I still stand by my theory that it’s gonna be HTTYD that’s like the only IP that they ignored at USH

That’s why Broadway is dead and community theater doesn’t exist…

I mean, I don't particularly like musicals but I think people certainly do, even if it's not to the same degree they did 70 years ago.

Counterpoint: RETURN TO OZ is great, regardless of what the box office said!

People don't like musicals...unless DIsney makes them?

Like Disney has over 20 musical's that are classics, they literally have rides like Mermaid which are basically musical rides

Also I know some don't like musicals...but also this is a three minute attraction if you don't like music for that long, then theme parks aren't for you. If we have to listen to crap like the Gas O line song for years at the Fast and Furious area then I think guests will be fine with Wicked on the tram.

Exactly my point. This attraction would not be suitable for the wicked IP. If it’s short like you said what would the “story” be? What songs would be included in 3 minutes? Idk. ‍
