They’ve had a patent for “occlusion” for a while now, and we had theorized on the forums it would debut with Orlando’s version. This should prevent the AR characters from driving over top of the heads of the riders in the front row when you’re seated in back row then if that’s what it is.

This gone improve the AR immensely making this the version of the ride as they intended it. This bumped this ride much higher on my list if I ever make it to Orlando.

While I’m glad we are getting updated visuals , it would have been nice if all of the land was a little bigger . Since they literally started with a blank footprint they could have done even more than just copy Japan and part of California

It technically is a *little* bigger. With like 10 feet more courtyard space, yay!

Seems like they could have added more power up band experiences or maybe make a slightly larger restaurant ? Oh well.

The restaurant is larger and has some more seats than Japan (and a lot more than Hollywood).

I was hoping this was the case and of course as always Alicia delivered with her response.

This might be a question too early to ask into previews, but has anyone been able to use a Power-Up Band purchased in Hollywood at Epic Universe?

I don't know if anyone's specifically mentioned it here, but Universal did come out and say that you will be able to link your pre-existing band from USH and their app to the USF app for Epic.

My assumption is that they will be able to work at both because they don't store data on the bands themselves, but act as communication between your band and your unique ID on the app. This stands to reason that a different app would be able to enter the same code and have no conflicts in activation and use across either apps/either parks.

Correct. Each app will store separate data for you at each of the Super Nintendo World lands... so even though you are using the same Power-Up Band in three different SNW's across the globe, all your stats will be different in each.

In other words, scores and achievements do not carry over between lands, but you are able to hold separate data for all lands at same time.

When it comes to Power-Up bands, Epic Universe will be the Super Mario Brothers: the Lost Levels to Hollywood's Super Mario Bros is what I'm interpreting this all as right now.

That's a spot-on analogy of the two main US parks' SNWs!

Rumor has it that when Universal first got the Nintendo license they pitched a hotel dubbed "Hotel Mario", Miyamoto, seeing those words together, fell into a blind rage, threatened to move the deal to Six Flags, until they promised Pikmin would be apart of the land. /s

We probably won't know until there's an allergy listing for the menu or something.

So I’m seeing a lot of reviews about how rough Mine Cart is. This really sucks because it’s probably like Top 3 things I’ve been wanting to ride since DKC was one of my favorite games growing up.

I have neck issues, but I do pretty much all of the coasters that don’t go upside down, with the exception of Space Mountain. Is it rough on that level?

I am hopeful they’ve found a way to improve the Toadstool Cafe experience. Just watched the Trackers latest experience out west, and it was… not ideal.

I’m glad I avoided it on our trip. And can only imagine what it could be like at Epic if it’s run the same way…

A lot of Toadstool Cafe's problems in Hollywood (aside from having a worse menu than the one in Japan) seem to mostly stem from its location and size. Hopefully dedicated backstage space and a larger footprint mitigate some of these issues, even if it will likely remain EU's version of a Fantasyland restaurant.

Imo I found the experience at USJ equally miserable. I have doubts that they’ve figured it out for Epic but I’m open to being surprised!

EDIT: Actually what am I saying — I’m probably never eating at Toadstool ever again lol
