Poor taste? It’s horror nights! It’s SUPPOSED to be SCARY. It’s like censorship. I wonder if that’s why they closed T2.

It's not why they closed T2. That attraction was getting a bit irrelevant and the effects were starting to age.

But why would they make a show based on a franchise where all of the movies are already out of theaters?
And Termiantor’s very relevant now. Without getting off topic, it is very, VERY, relevant.

I just mean it's not a pulling IP as much as it used to be.

I know, but they could’ve waited for the new Terminator movie, with Cameron, Linda Hamilton, and Arnold back Cameron has stated this film would fix all mistakes T3 and after so it’s a true sequel to T2. And with the world getting more nostalgic, it would’ve been the better solution

yeah, idk. I think Uni is trying to rely less on nostalgia and more on current IPs that can remain at the park for a while during other expansions.

They own Bourne and didn’t win the distribution rights for Bond’s next film.

It took 20 months. Closed October 5th, 2014 and opened June 21, 2016... actually pretty fast for Disney. Hell, Disaster! closed October 2015 and it's replacement has still yet to open... and not too many people are excited for it either.

Just wanted to clarify my meaning. The 3 years was meant from the time they knew they had a mega hit not the build time for the ride.

I guess. Bourne just seems like an odd choice for such a huge IP . F&F I get. Fallon I get. They have huge markets. I don't get this.

T2 didn't work because unlike most attractions in the park, if you've never seen the Terminator movies you're not going to understand the attraction, at all. I haven't seen T2 and the show did absolutely nothing for me. I did it once, didn't enjoy it, and basically skipped it every time afterwards. I don't have that issue with any other attraction in the parks, including ones based off properties I haven't seen. And with the parks increasingly becoming more family friendly, keeping an outdated, aging attraction based off a 20-year-old rated R film just isn't feasible. Bourne may be a garbage IP and a short-sighted move for the space, but at the very least it can stand on its own well and be enjoyed by anyone.

Bottom line is an action stunt show is just an action stunt show. They can be titled Miami Vice, Bond, Bourne, Man From U.N.C.L.E., or whatever, but short of maybe a theme song and the IP title, they're going to be basically the same. More key than anything is that the show have good writing, good effects, and not get overly corny.
