Yep. SLOP merch never sold well from day one, and they still built a ride 'after' the merch showed it had no legs.

The operative phrase there is ""A" ride". As in one ride.

Men In Black was one of the first rides to receive its own Spirit Jersey which is weird, but maybe they knew the hardcore fans would buy it no matter what :nervous:

I would love the ride at USO, but yes, it wasn't planned for Orlando, even though it would easily have fit in the full Shrek area. It's merch sales appear to have always been pretty terrible at Orlando.

Hey @Brian G. have you thought of creating something like a rumor tracker for USO ?

I was over at WDWMagic and they have an active thread were they able to keep track of all potential updates, expansions and any changes happening at WDW.

We as forum members are the rumor trackers. We share it, debunk it, share a new rumor, etc.

.....or just wait for a new video from @Alicia

I have no problem with a Project Tracker.

Rumor Tracker, in an "official" capacity, just isn't our bag.

I'm confused by the Sprung Tents 2025 part. Is that referring to them possibly being torn down?

Not so much torn down, but probably relocated. Unless they want to go with a 2.0 model

Me too. Last time I was there last year there was an entire section with no AAs working. Think it was the alley early in the ride on the right? IIRC it's always had issues but it was the first time it felt like the entire scene was down. It was surprising how much it stood out compared to the rest of the ride. It also didn't seem like my shots at the target after the x-ray scene weren't registering because the other group's vehicle wouldn't spin.

Good to know it's getting a bit of the ET TLC treatment!

This is a great outlook and one I think they learned a little too late but I'm so happy they got here. E.T. Mummy, MIB should stick around in perpetuity. They have reached a certain state of "evergreen" status, iconic rides in their own right (regardless of the IP that is tied to them).

I think EU helps make this possible as the previous argument was because Universal didn't have a lot of space to work with (which was true). It's about time Universal holds on to some of these older rides like it was their version of Disney's beloved classic rides.

They worked some real magic. Just rode and there is brand new lighting throughout the entire ride and it looks incredible.

Also noticed a lot of animatronics moving for the first time in a LONG time!

Awesome! Any news on the fog effect at the finale scene? Spinning around after pushing that red button surrounded by fog was such a great way to end the ride.

There's supposed to be fog there? Man, I would kill to see that effect return. That'd fix a ton about that scene.

Hopefully Sony keeps the rent low on the IP rights for as long as possible, because this ride is spectacular and one of the key highlights of USF park and the resort in general.

Yep! You can see it in spurts during the spinning here:

There were small spurts of fog starting to appear in the finale again, yes! Hopefully a sign of the effect making a full return sooner rather than later.
