Or modified as in main strip, plus Gringotts. But no market and no Knockturn?

The land isn't the problem, Gringotts show building is huge - bigger than the actual land itself.

I’m of the opinion that we should either get the whole thing or don’t bring it at all. I really don’t like this idea.

They could just put this thing somewhere else on the backlot and have the Hogwarts Express take us there. Besides, this sounds like it would be a crowd nightmare and would be unbearable during construction.

Yes, due to the size of the area, it's probably just Diagon, or part of Diagon, and no Gringotts. If I recall the rumor from years ago, Gringotts was a no go if it was being built in the existing park area, minus the tram tour areas.

If they move the Tram loading area.....couldn't they use the hill and the road below for Gringotts. I mean if you have to go downstairs for the ride would make sense anyway....but yeah no land without a ride....maybe we could get our own unique ride.....ohhh who am I kidding they are too cheap for that

The second worst thing that can happen is we get a smaller land and they use the ride area for a modified version of the Hogwarts Express

I was watching a theme park news channel and they reported a rumor that was apparently discussed by some team members at USH where they heard one of the things in consideration to replace Springfield in 2028 when the contract would be more Harry Potter specifically a modified version of Diagon Alley. Anyone else hear anything else about this rumor?

"Theme park news channel" doing a lot of work in this sentence.

I doubt it happens. 2028 is 14 years after Diagon opened.

I agree. I don't want it to be Diagon alley too. Depending on the reception at Epic Universe, I hope they turn that corner of the upper lot into something Classic Monsters related.

Gringotts is a waste of resources for a new ride at USH, would be super disappointing. Diagon Alley, soft serve butterbeer, and the queue for Gringotts are the only things good about Diagon Alley.

Replacing Springfield with Diagon Alley would be an absolutely abysmal place to put it. First of all, I think we should skip Diagon entirely and have something unique that makes USH a destination rather than just "A Smaller Version of UOR". But, setting that aside, so much traffic goes through Springfield. Even if the Studio Tour loading area was moved somewhere else, right now Springfield is the only way to and from the Lower Lot. It gets so crowded on high attendance days and the employees struggle to keep the traffic moving. Now add in a bunch of people gawking at Diagon Alley and you have a recipe for disaster. The ride is old but Springfield, as a land, is still relatively young. I think it'd be more likely that they replace The Simpsons Ride with another simpsons-themed ride than replace the whole land. I really doubt Disney is going to pull the plug on it. Even if they did, what would they do with having the rights back? Star Wars in Disneyland is already kind of a tough sell but they'd have to find a place to put Springfield, then build it, then design a new ride for it, and so many other things when just cashing the checks from Universal would be so much easier.

I would be surprised if Diagon comes to the Upper Lot. Like, for so many reasons do I not see that happening. But an important thing is that it just wouldn't work the way it does in Orlando. It needs to have 3 major points of entry/exit, and thus could not possibly be as secluded as it is in Orlando.

Totally agree on this point. I would rather we didn't get DK, Diagon, or any direct ports from EU at all. Especially because as Hollywood as far less space than any of the parks in Orlando, having as few rides per land as UOR does just wouldn't work as well. More things like SLoP, that fully maximize on every bit of space it has, would be far preferable. But it also seems UC themselves are making efforts to separate the park from the other coasts. SLoP, DWT, and JWA are all pretty unique experiences to the park which is nice. Who knows, we might even get something nice to set our SNW apart

With the fast and furious coaster rumored to be coming to the upper lot, I think that this takes out diagon alley taking over where Simpsons is. Will be interesting to see what type of attraction they will build since it is rumored the show building will be demoed for whatever replaces Simpsons. The building extends over a cliff so that will have to be taken into effect. I see also the Simpsons closing in the 2026-2027 timeframe.

I’d assume Potter in someway still takes over that area
Especially if they can use the hill below the simpsons ride, they can put some big ride there

Might be something new or what being built at epic universe

From my understanding, Krusty burger and 3 broomsticks share a kitchen. So that building needs to stay a restaurant.
You're probably right about the ride building. But there's also the possibility that the studio tour entrance is moved to the lower lot, leaving a huge space for expansion.
Don't know if those areas will be combined, but I would throw out the possibility of Classic Monsters here

Don't think so. They already have an Illumnation land on the upper lot with Minion Mayhem. I think it will be something different.

They can also use French street for the rumored walking minion ride

Better yet, how about they gut Minion Mayhem and put a proper dark ride in there? The ride is just two years away from turning ten years old so I think an eventual replacement is in order.

They can also do an expanded version of the minion walkthrough attraction in that space. In USF you might know is just using up only one of the former Shrek theaters so they can use the other as a black box for Horror Nights. At USH they can make it one large attraction. Though I am not sure they are getting rid of Minion Mayhem as they are opened/opening up new versions at Beijing and Singapore.

They're not going to do that. Minion Mayhem continues to get cloned for a reason.
