Like I said before, DM will only have 1-2 more movies tops. Then it will be gone with the wind like the others. No reason to spend all that money just to move absimulator ride that's only gonna last another decade at best.

I think if Universal came to Nick with this idea, they would work together fine.

How about a mario theme. He kinda blew up on the wii, DS and Wii U lately. They could have a mario kart ride! lol

I was talking to my buddy the other day and we both said a Mario Kart ride would be EPIC! lol

They could always make the dance party area smaller and extend the ride's screen and add more ride vehicles to it.

It also helps that it's right at the front of the park, and minion merch sells really well so they will want to keep that gift shop right near the end so people drop in and buy something before they leave.

A lot of people on here seem to want Super Silly Fun Land and like the facades that cover the Despicable Me building. It also seems like our DM attraction could benefit for the increased capacity Hollywood will be getting with their version. So I wonder if Universal could move DM and make it part of this KidZone revamp. I could even see them taking Woody's Nuthouse Coaster and theming it to look like the coster from the movie as part of our SSFL area since we already a have a spinner.

Now what do we do with DM's old location. I'm thinking I would like to see a revamped a Back to the Future with brand new ride HD ride film with multiple time lines that could be visited much like Disney's revamp of StarTours. I also think it would be fun to include a virtual Marty like Max Headroom(think about the virtual waiters in the Cafe 80's in BTTF II) in the ride car.

The reason I suggest bringing the Future back is because of the buildings small size, I feel like they are kind of stuck with it because of the HRRR and the concert plaza. If Universal was to grab another large IP for that building they would just be doing the same thing all over again. I know this would please the fans of both properties and be a win win.

I actually really love the idea of bringing BTTF back and have the multiple time lines like Star Tours. As much as I can bash Disney, I do have to say, there's definitely a few rides I would like to see a Universal version of in their parks(Great Movie Ride, TOT, Test Track). But anyways, If they were to ever bring BTTF back, I feel like it deserves more than that DM building and concept.

My KidZone(realistic picks): TMNT, Scooby Doo/Hanna Barbera, SpongeBob, Looney Tunes, and a big IP for the girls in Barbie. All IP's that will almost always be big.

Or just tear out Blue Man Group, put SSFL there, add the neighborhood facades to block out HRRR queue, tear out Rockit for a rethemed family coaster (maybe 95-100 ft lift hill instead?) and use Shrek and Lucy's space for a nice peopleeating Omnimover  it'd spread the family crowds around, give USF a SSFL without relocating Minion Mayhem, and give the park an all-ages dark ride near the front of the park.

You totally could expand that way, to the left for DM. It would be kinda cool to see that be turned into a DM themed roller coaster....since Rocket really isn't anything right now.

More likely they'd use that system for F&F since it is a popular property owned by Universal.

I may be in the minority here, but I'm dead set against HRRR going down for a family coaster. I think USF needs at least one thrill coaster and with the JP coaster coming next year, the last thing Universal needs is another "family coaster" IMO. Woody, Hippogriff and JP is more than enough.

Woody and Hippogriff are kiddie coasters  with whopping 20 ft drops.

By family coaster, I mean Space Mountain and Expedition: Everest! A 80-100 ft lift hill with swoops and turns throughout the track length. It'd be a 44" height requirement as opposed to 51".

Rockit ruined the Seuss skyline so I'm not against a smaller replacement. Put a thrill machine in the back of the park where it can draw people in as a weenie.

Fair enough, but still I'd rather they just use the other side of the park across from DM. Shrek is a waste of time and is in an awful place to literally be placed across the street from a better version of what you get. As ugly as the HRRR lift is, I enjoy the ride and prefer they leave it alone. But that is my preference.

^How to train your dragon is going to be unknown to kids in the next few years, they should do a theme that is already a staple in kids tv.

This! Shrek was a hot franchise at one point, now, not so much. Same goes for Madagascar and Ice Age. These animated film series blow up fast, are milked dry, then eventually fizzle out. The same thing is going to happen to Despicable Me and How to Train Your Dragon. The KidsZone should rely on IPs that have proven they can stand the test of time AND remain relevant for future generations. SpongeBob, TMNT, and Scooby-Doo have all proven this. I do like Looney Toons, but I question their popularity these days. Also, doesn't Six Flags have the right to those characters?

People keep throwing out video game ideas, but I don't think that's realistic. If we're throwing out random ideas, I say KidsZone gets re-themed to 80s cartoon classics: Masters of the Universe, Thundercats, SilverHawks, and VOLTRON! That would define awesome!

I think we are all forgetting that is starts with the young kids today, they will be the ones riding these rides as they grow up and they will be the ones taking their kids to ride these rides in the future. So what are kids watching today? I think the reason Nick has been thrown out of contention is because kids today are not watching it as much. When I talk to parents of kids around my daughter's age (3) they are talking about all the Disney stuff, no one asks me if my kid watches Nick stuff. It is all Jake, Doc Mcstuffin, Mickey, etc. So if they are not watching Nick today, do you think when they turn 5 they will be watching Spongebob? Probably not. Now we all know that Uni can't use the Disney properties. Which is what is causing huge issues for them with this kidzone property. Because the toddler age kids today are the ones that will grow up with these rides. So they need something that will work for them and something that their parents will take them to go an see. So I really think they are going to have to go with some kind of movies type thing. TV is just not going to work. This is just my personal opinion and based on my experiences talking with parents.

It could be something on TV and Movie and it could be something rebooted from TV or movie.

Oh and Madagascar and Ice Age are not dead. They sell the DVDs in most stores and my kid loves them. And other parents seem to think their kids enjoy them. My daughter what dancing around the house screaming "Move it, Move it". These are types of properties I can see easily being rebooted like Smurfs, TMNT, My Little Pony, etc.

I still think it's going to be Despicable Me themed as Super Silly Fun Land. The idea/property still is hot, they own it (so no licensing fees needed) and obviously it's HUGELY popular. For everyone who says why would they build it so far away from the DM attraction, I just point out that the attraction facade it Gru's house, Super Silly Funland is not next to it in the movie, there's no real reason it would have to be next to it in real life. A retheme of existing attractions in KZ would be economical and (more importantly) FAST as well, very much like what they did for the Simpsons area. Just a few months of work could revitalize it all and they could add a few more new attractions while they were at it.

I really like this ! They are already building one in Hollywood they should build a bigger and better one in florida. They could even do a scavenger hunt or something like that on the way to the kid zone .

If a ride is fun and cool it will stand the test of time. I'm sure kids don't know the back story to Splash Mt. and they still love it.

I think universal needs both a couple more kiddie rides and a lot of family rides. It sucks when my family goes to universal because all of the little kids are upset and crying and ready to leave because they can't get on anything. I really want universal to work things out with dreamworks and nick. I can see nick wanting a bigger present in the parks again whose decision was to ax nick studios? Dreamworks and Universal problem being over the played out film or the fact that dreamworks cancelled shrek 5 out of nowhere and rushed 4 which was horrible and they already had plans to do a new ride out of the 5th movie and then dreamworks sold Madagascar to sea world/Busch gardens . In my dreams we would get a super silly funland, dreamworks land and at least spongebob from nick and an update of et a big one.

Although I love E.T. (cause I was born in 1970) I think it's ride system could very easily be transformed into Sponge Bob. The bikes could be themed as boats and it dips down in the beginning to give you the under the ocean. Changing it over could be done really quickly and the store is right beside the ride. Add some mist screens and underwater Sponge Bob props and they could make an updated dark ride.
