I've been on it, and while it is a fun coaster, I don't think there is a great capacity and it is pretty similar to HRRR.

Is this supposed to be appealing to the 7-year-olds who watch Spongebob?! Now I want to make the trip across the country just to go on this

So have you all seen what Universal Studios Japan has done with their kids' area?

I hope that whatever happens to the Kidzone is just like this: nicely organized with each property getting their own mini-land, and not a cluttered mess of themes like what we currently have.

7 year old kids? I just showed the video to my GF who's a huge Snoopy fan. She absolutely loved it.

I could see Dora, Hello Kitty & My Little Pony sharing a mini-land as a girly answer to all of the boy-centric rides Uni is known for (answer to New Fantasyland?)

Sesame Street & Peanuts can't come to USF

But SpongeBob, TMNT, Scooby, and HTTYD could also be there to add boy appeal; with E.T. & Woody Woodpecker there for nostagla

Barney and Fievel need the ax, while Curious George sadly will probably get the ax :(

I doubt they would license Hello Kitty for USF, as I don't think it's popular enough with the general U.S. audience to warrant it.

My Little Pony is definitely a possibility though - the new series is a smash hit and has far more appeal with people than any of its previous versions did, plus it is selling merchandise like crazy at the moment, and Universal has a very strong relationship with Hasbro right now.

As for the others, I'd say SpongeBob and Dora are a definite go for the new Kidzone. I would love to see Scooby-Doo as well.

I don't see why KidZone NEEDS to be kid's cartoon themed. Why not something else besides these poor children's cartoons, but something with still a lot of family appeal, and with a lot of family attractions. My Little Pony and Dora sound just like poor choices to theme an entire land to. And unless it is completely amazing, I could see people just laughing it off.

The current version of My Little Pony does have family appeal - lots of it, in fact. The appeal of MLP right now can be compared to the appeal of the PowerPuff Girls - girly yes, but not too girly, with just enough humor, developed characters, and occasional action to appeal to many kinds of people, including boys.

As for Dora the Explorer, yeah okay, I'm not going to defend that. Dora's definitely little kid's stuff. (and when it comes to Nick Jr. shows, the likes of Blue's Clues and Eureeka's Castle were much, much more likeable.) But I think it could still make an interesting attraction if executed properly, something I'm pretty sure Universal can do.

Personally, I agree with many people here in that the Kidzone should be made into a Nickelodeon land. Have attractions for SpongeBob, Fairly OddParents, TMNT, Jimmy Neutron and The Last Airbender, but also have a Rugrats attraction and numerous references to old-school Nick to appeal to the older folk, that way everyone can have their cake and eat it too. Probably won't happen, but it's a nice thing to dream about.

^ Yes, actually.

I don’t see what’s wrong with those photos. Looks like a bunch of people just being fun and silly and having a nice time with each other. Who are you to judge? Especially since you don’t know any of them personally.

I say save your judgment for the people that are actually causing harm to others, not people that have a passion that you don’t understand. I could explain it to you, but I don’t think it would have much sway.

And besides, your “argument” here is ridiculously one-sided. Posting a bunch of pictures that you perceive as weird while ignoring the positive things that have come out of the Brony fandom and the wonderful things it has done for some people, because there have been oodles of great things that fandom has caused. Oodles and oodles.

For the most part, I love Bronies. The only ones that really bother me are the ones that, again as I said before, are actually causing harm to others. But the ones I know personally? Great people. And I believe their passion will lead them to a great future.

Also, those pictures in no way refute what I was trying to say about how My Little Pony has a stronger appeal than most other girl franchises, therefore your point, or lack thereof, is moot.

I suppose you have a point there. I'm just kind of speculating around here. There are a couple of factors going against it, but there's still a part of me that doesn't want to write it off completely.

I think what could come to Kidzone is a really an exciting mystery. I don't think it will be How to Train your Dragon, as Universal seems to be done with Dreamworks, and I don't think TMNT will be involved either, as Universal (sadly) seems to be done with Nickelodeon as well (outside of SpongeBob and Dora).

So that leaves a lot to consider. Hopefully the Smurfs will stay far, far, far away from this.

If they wanted to go down the route of having a Spongebob Land then what they could do, though I don't know if there's space, is have a Sponge Dark Ride, Meet and Greet, Krusty Krab Restaurant, Goofy Goober's Ice Cream Parlour, and a Boating School Driving Ride similar to the Tomorrow Land Speedway. And maybe a Jellyfish Fields Play area.

I'm a huge SpongeBob fan, but I would be very disappointed if they made it all SpongeBob.

I think the full extent of what they should do with SpongeBob is have a unique flat ride as well as have a Krusty Krab restaurant.

Still stand by my wanting ET gutted. Rode it this past week and it was Just horrible, beyond bad and dated and would be more valuable to the park to get rid of it and put something new there.
