I have a question about Forbidden Journey. I understand Universal changed out some of the seats to fit "larger" guests? Are there still issues with "larger" guests being unable to ride or has that been fixed? I know the Hulk coaster has two seats per train for "larger" guests. Is there still a limit as to how tall or heavy a guest is before they cannot ride Forbidden Journey?

I would say unless you are well over 300 pounds there is no need to get concerned. It also depends on how one carries there weight. I have dropped a lot of weight, I am still very large and require the larger seats on the side but with no assistance and it is quite comfortable compared to what it was when I was well over 300. But it will always feel a little cramped as I have a large shoulder and chest build as well as a large pelvis. and being tall. I can't change bone.

I would try not to worry about it. Unfortunately I know of little answers other than the test seat.

That being said, last time I rode Hulk I still needed the lager seat and it was still quite tight due to the height and shoulder reasons as well as my overweight issue. I find the Forbidden Journey seat's to be much more comfortable.

Hey everybody, I've been away from the boards for a while (mostly because I've been in college for the year and was pretty busy), but now that I'm on vacation, I'm going to Islands this weekend to visit Wizarding World. I'm trying to figure out how much I'll be spending there, so does anyone know where I may find the prices of food at the Three Broomsticks?

The Phelps/Weasley twins stopped by the island today to do some filming. From the Orlando Sentinel:

phelpses800-575x406.jpg

Oliver and James Phelps, the actors who portrayed the Weasley twins in the “Harry Potter” movies, were taping at Universal’s Islands of Adventure on Wednesday. The brothers were stationed near the theme park’s Hogsmeade village with Hogwarts as the backdrop at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

The Phelpses read from a prompter and interacted with fans between takes. Universal team members comically shhhushed squealing passers-by and asked for no flash photography. Later, the brothers used omnioculars as a prop. They smiled sheepishly as they were escorted out of the area through the backstage area near the secondary butterbeer cart.

Folks on hand did not know the purpose of the taping, though there were whispers of commercials, DVD extras and other promotional media, perhaps tied to the upcoming one-year anniversary of Wizarding World of Harry Potter. (Universal Orlando officials have pledged to get back with me on this today. Stay tuned.)

Clearly, they were not in character: They’re now much taller, very much alive — and not very ginger.

Speaking of HP, did anyone find it weird that Tom Felton won best villain at the MTV movie awards, and he was in the film for a total of 5 minutes maybe?

How are you surprised? It's the MTV movie awards. Teenage girls don't care about performances; they vote for the best looking actor in each category.

Calm down! :lol: It's TEEN GIRLS that are voting! What do you expect? There are two major things teen girls like. Justine Bieber, and Twilight. As for Tom Felton, the reason he won was because the voters still like Harry Potter, just not as much as Twilight. Villain was the only category HP wasn't up against Twilight in, and therefore the only one that they won.

I didn't really want to go through over 1,000 pages, and I don't see a separate thread for this. My friend and I are planning to dine at Three Broomsticks. I know the place is extremely popular. I was told by others to get there about 11:00 AM. You then stand on line, place your order at the front of the resturant, pay at the register, then a host or hostess takes you to pick up your food then walks you to a table. Is this how Three Broomsticks works? I thought, and I guess I thought wrong, that it was a buffett. I like the sound of how they work the restaurant. Sounds like it makes lines move quicker.

What have your experiences been with Three Broomsticks? Are the waits usually terribly long? Do you order the way I described above? What kinds of foods do they offer? I heard ribs, chicken, mashed potatoes, vegetables, and some other British offerings. True? Do you recommend Three Broomsticks, and if so, what time do you suggest we try to dine there?

I'm very excited about trying seeing Wizarding World finally, and I want to get the most of my Harry Potter experience.

The Three Broomsticks is extremely efficient. You first queue up and have time to observe the menu and decide what you want. The first employee gives you a register number to go to. After you order your food you go to the pick up line that corresponds to your register number. For example is you order at station 7 you will pick up your food at pick up window 7. Once you have your tray in hand you will walk along the wall and pass the condiment station. Directly after the condiment station you are greeted by a hostess who will take you and your party directly to a table to eat.

Now as for the food IMO its fantastic. I would rather eat here then anywhere else at Universal Studios or Islands of Adventure. My Mom and her entire side of the family is from England so they tore up the food. They were all about the Cornish Pasties, Shepards Pie, and Turkey Legs. Now me on the other hand didn't really care for the more "authentic" British fare, but the Chicken, Ribs, and Fish and Chips are phenomenal. If you like a good plate of Fish and Chips it makes the ones at Epcot look like fish sticks IMO.

My wife and I's ideal meal is,
Fish and Chips with roasted corn paired with beer of my choice for me and my wife gets the Chicken with roasted potatoes corn and a frozen butterbeer. Then we split the two meals. Oh so goooooooddddd. But here is what they offer in case none of this is to your liking.

Main Dishes

* Rotisserie-smoked chicken
* Chargrilled ribs
* Turkey legs
* Fish and chips
* Shepherd’s pie
* Cornish pasties
* Potato leek soup
* Split pea soup
* Ham soup

Most meals will be served with a side of salad, roasted veggies, corn on the cob, french fries, or potatoes.

Childrens’ Menu

All portion are under 300 calories!

* Chicken fingers
* Macaroni and cheese
* Fish and chips
* Turkey leg

Great Feast

Available to parties larger than four people.

Guests share trays of:

* Rotisserie chicken
* Ribs
* Roasted vegetables
* Potatoes
* Corn on the cob

Desserts

* Strawberry peanut butter ice cream
* Deep-dish apple pie
* Chocolate-berry trifle

Drinks

* Butterbeer (tastes like shortbread cookies and butterscotch that has a two part pouring method to make the non-alcoholic drink stay frothy)
* Frozen Butterbeer
* Pumpkin Juice
* Scottish ale called Hog’s Head Brew

The waits are going to be long so either eat lunch before 11:30 AM or after 2:30 PM.

Here's how it works. You stand in line and a host/hostess will assign you to a register, then you place your order at the register, and from there they assign you an order pick-up window. Once you pick up your food another host/hostess will find you an open table and then you enjoy.

The food offerings are all traditional British type meals. I've only had the fish n chips which you can't go wrong with. Besides Mythos, Three Broomsticks is the best food you can get at the park.

EDIT: I was beat to it, and you went WAY more into detail. :doh:

Hatetofly and sierrak5, thank you both. Hatetofly, that's a great review. I appreicate it. Sounds awesome and totally efficient. I think I'm going to love that place. I'll line up around 11:00, hopefully that is early enough. And if I have to wait a bit, so be it. I'm sure it will be well worth the wait. I'm really excited about this trip. With everything that went on this last week, this trip cannot come fast enough for me.

If there's 4 of you, I recommend the Great Feast. Was great.
