I brought it up again because I had a recent experience where it was brought to my attention again, as I explained in my post. And we know for fact that Universal has patrolled these boards, so I certainly do hope they see this here. You are free and welcome to concentrate on whatever you want, but you shouldn't try to dictate what everyone else wants to discuss. You don't have to participate in the particular conversation if you don't want to. Just let it be and it will move on to something else soon enough anyways.

I just made a statement in the first place and it wasn't even directed at anyone in particular. I'm just giving my opinion and maybe trying to give people a more positive attitude on the theme park we love.

Thanks... what a horrid disaster... I would rather see a line over the bridge and up to the castle. Yeah, it's a mess, but knocking people backstage is more of a mess in that it totally breaks the theme. Have they ever toyed with forcing the interior queues to fill up and stop for each "show"? Anyone know? I wish they would test it as right now, their largest queue (interior), is unused.

The problem is that the line uses up all available space. Like its in the backlot AND past the bridge and back.
If the TMs are working hard enough the interior line should flow from the ride all the way through all of the greenhouses, out the dungeons, etc. I know on Tuesday they had no free space. The greenhouses were completely full and there was a solid line THROUGH the dungeons.

I don't understand by what you mean to fill up and stop for each "show?" What do you mean by "show?" Its a ride that dispatches 4 people every 7 seconds..... and their interior queue is unused??? It can't be unused....its full everyday. It only holds 15 minutes of queue....

By "show" I believe he means a full run-through of the scene in each of the main rooms, like Dumbledore's welcome in his office, the trio talking to us in the DADA classroom, the conversation between the portraits of the four founders...

Has anyone ever gone through the walk through line sorely to take pictures? Would it be possible to go around with a tripod or monopod as long as you are out of others way, if they even allow you to?

I'm pretty sure they would let you if you go through the castle tour line, you get to hit every room.

Yes, this is exactly what I meant by "show". They might know that it would be impossible to force people to keep walking in the entrance to the building, as everyone wants to stop and take pictures. Still, I would test it out to see if herding people would work. Would take 6-10 additional employees to control it all.

Yes, they do. I know friends who have done so, and I've almost done it, except I usually tend to only go back there right before closing time for my night shots and don't want to feel like I'm holding them up by taking my time with photos so close to closing.

Except that the spiels are 60-90 seconds each. People complain how slow the line is outside, this is the counter. The ride keeps moving therefore the line has to. 4 people are dispatched every 7 seconds.

Plus people don't like to be herded. The dungeons is evidence of that enough.

Herding people is what Disney has been praised for over the decades. They herd quite well into HM, PF etc.

The ONLY thing I hate about Haunted Mansion is how much I hate being herded into the load room.

Please drag your wretched bodies to the dead center of the room and away from the walls!

On topic, I like the idea Teebs, I just don't believe it would work. Paying an additional 6-10 employees for crowd control year round probably isn't too appealing to the financial side of things.

Payroll is the biggest overall cost to just about every company in the world. Its also the very first one cut, and this is true with most companies right now. Everyone wants more results with less overhead. So I think your dead on here.

You know, when Disney dumps "Fantasmic" at the studios it goes through a (gasp!) totally unthemed area! And I've been at the Magic Kingdom on 4th of July and NYE when they have exited people out through the parking lots behind Main Street. When its busy busy busy the parks have to accomodate the crowds somewhow.

I still don't think it's acceptable and alterations can be made. Potter is so amazingly detailed, so why is it the thematic consistency thrown out the window there's a crowd?

Sorry to bring it up again, but I don't mind the show building at all; I go to Kings Island every week and obviously, Kings Island is not a major theme park, but Kings Island does not even bother hiding the show buildings for the two themed rides. Flight of Fear is just a big octagon and you can see it throughout the park. The Crypt (now closed) is themed to a tomb, but you can see the whole entire white box. Seeing just a bit of FJ's show building isn't a big deal - for me.

This is an old, old picture, but here's The Crypt (when it was Tomb Raider):

I went to school in Dayton, I went to Kings Island several times. You said it best, Kings Island is not a major theme park. I pay more to go to universal and Disney, why shouldn't I ask for more?

Then why oh why has Comcast demanded more actors and meet and greets out on the street? They aren't paid $7.80 per hour I do not believe. Can the certain someone tell us how much they are paid? I would assume $15-$30 per hour.

I would force feed people into that building and keep the entire interior queue packed rather than a jogging course. Comcast loves to spend money and keep the employees happy.

Entertainment is another story. Apples and Oranges comparison there. Sure they could present a budget that requires so many people consistently controlling an area. But in reality, they are just going to design a way that will work that is a one time cost rather than constantly paying such a group.
