Why didn't they just tear down the rest of the Lost Continent and put in the Forbidden Forest while building Hogsmead station?

I'm guessing that Lost Continent will be replaced with "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" in a few years.

We got trees on the Hogsmeade berm!

@AmusementBuzz: "The stones that were back in the Kong area have been put in place in Hogsmeade"

I'm happy to not see that wall anymore

Your not in potter until you get to the rocks. Why destroy what's left of the LC theme. I can see the Gryffin statue from Seuss, does that also need to go?

It'll all be gone eventually though. Letting it die a slow death like this is fairly hard to watch. I'd prefer they just get on with it.

This latest Potter incursion hasn't robbed LC of anything of significance; I don't see how this is dying a 'slow death'. I'd rather keep what we have and enjoy it, and appreciate having two great areas next to each other. If anything both areas have benefited from this - the average quality of LC as a whole has skyrocketed with the removal of the games which dragged down the otherwise high quality of LC, while WWHP has also been improved as has the transition between them.

Taking down the small details are what would make it die a slow death.

But of course everyone is still convinced it's next up.

In the past three years Sindbad has gotten a new stage and a new sound system. Poseidon got a complete upgrade and overhaul including a lot of expensive concrete work, the store in front of Poseidon got fixed up, the third party vendors just moved around and had their areas re-done, the fire eaters kitchen was just completely replaced and the drink stand was converted into a snack stand with a mini-kitchen having to be built.

They've dumped millions of dollars into LC over the past three years on discretionary upgrades. Some have insisted that doesn't matter, because obviously companies have no issues dumping millions of dollars into something they are going to rip out instead of taking it as profit. And I'm sure Comcast wouldn't have an issue with that either.

The argument is of course that there has to be a movie tie-in for Fantastic Beasts, some news story said so when it was announced. Granted the news story did not say it would be a new addition. And the Flight of the Hippogriff is based on Fantastic Beasts. The opening team had to read the book because it's the basis of the theme of the ride, and the quotes Hagrid says are right out of the book. If you like it or not Hippogriff is Fantastic Beasts tie-in.

So for now LC is safe, and the details need to be protected.

I am an obsessed Potter fan. But even I am starting to think after Diagon Alley it might start to become too much. But I am in favor of keeping the theme of potter in the park to just the original books/movies and not Fantastic Beasts. If they are going to do a Phase 3, I would much rather see a Forbidden Forest or Great Hall type expansion. The Great Hall is something I feel like is probably going to come to Orlando in the future after Hollywood gets it. But anyways, unless Fantastic Beasts turns out to be a critically acclaimed/loved by fans Box Office smash hit then I would just rather have something within the original Potter universe or a new concept for LC altogether aka. Something original? Or another themed IP?

Tell me, who switches on the mechanical wonders in the shops of hogsmeade? Are there switches behind the counters or are they controlled by a central location backstage? Same for the musions in the queue etc. Are there many switches or just a computer screen click backstage? Anyone know?

Everything in the FJ show building is run by the system in there, including the queue (and even the effects in the store).

Down in Hogsmeade each building has a room with a panel that controls the effects. For the most part they are left on all night.

You're making me want to walk through a deserted Hogsmeade at 3am watching all the windows now! I bet the Eyeball Bonanza skeleton doffing his hat looks quite the creepy one in the darkness

Two visits ago, I was on the very last ride of the night on FJ. Afterward, we walked through Hogsmeade in the dark with just the street and storefront lights and literally not a single other guest in the area. All of the window effects were going, and the only people were one or two TMs walking here and there, and they, of course, were in full wardrobe. It was quite surreal and a bit of a nerdgasm .

That's always a lovely experience- I got close to experiencing that this past Saturday, as there were only a few people walking around at one point.

I was thinking the same thing. It looks huge in this picture, but if you look in the background of a couple of the other shots, I think it's not nearly as big as it looks here. But still, I'm not sure what it is. Maybe just a lamppost?
