Ok, last time I ask a question like this. If I were to go to Universal, IOA on November 1 which is on a Monday, how packed would it be. Please only answer people that have been there every time of the year. Its not a legal holiday or whatever. I just don't want to go when its packed. Thanks.

Even with HP, I'd say crowds will be light to moderate, seeing as though HHN just finished. It will definetely be bearable, if not a little chilly.

I have premier, and it was 2.25. But not sure what kind of discount he gave me as I lost the original receipt and only had the CC receipt. But that was with Tax as it was the total that went on my CC.

Hi guys, Sorry. I asked this before but it keeps getting over looked. a couple of questions. I'm going Tuesday. I've been in before and had to go in at 9:00 what time should I get there tuesday? And will the park be open the whole time for guests or just the people who got in then? Also what with the birthday wands?

If someone would help I'd realy appreciate it.

Going to return to WWoHP in the first week of October, didn't realise HHN is on then which can also be a bonus. How busy is it at that time of year? Just wondering if an onsite hotel will be vital for a quick speed through on a week day...

I would really appreciate the thoughts of locals.

Thanks in advance

Before you had to be there early because they were only letting general public in during a short window of time in the morning, or if you were an on-site hotel guest and you wanted to make sure you got there before FJ broke down for the day. Plus before they were closing the land around noon. At this time there are full soft openings accesible to all general public attending IoA. These are happening from the time the park opens to general guests to the time the park closes. This is a bigger window of opportunity for you to get in, but you might want to consider that they close FJ way earlier than park closing time (5pm today, I believe), and with news of the place being open, more and more people will want to go, so you want to be there before it gets too full and they might close it down if it gets too packed and it causes an issue with the park's maximum capacity. Then again, really, only Universal will know (and only that same day) if they decide to open to the general public, when, for how long, etc. There have been many changes going on lately, but it seems they will continue to be open the entire day to continue/complete proper staff training, ride testing, etc. I personally think you have a good chance going at any point in the day on Tuesday, but I recommend you go before noon. Remember I'm making a prediction/educated guess from what we've seen most recently, but things are changing and being decided on a daily basis.

Regarding wands: In the world of Harry Potter, the wand chooses you; you do not just go to a wand shop and choose any wand you like. The wand connects with you based on many personal characteristics and the one suited for you is the one that will help you perform magic to the best of your ability. For the Wizarding World of Harry Potter they will try to recreate this and (mostly) go by one of the main factors in wand selection, which is related to your birthday and what type of wood corresponds to your birthday as per the Celtic lunar calendar. You can find out a bit more on this, including what wand corresponds to a person according to their birthday here: http://www.jkrowling.com/textonly/en/extrastuff_view.cfm?id=18

Universal can get PACKED during Halloween Horror Nights, but during the day time I think that's a pretty good time to come over. I don't think it's TOO busy during the daytime in October. Then again, this year we have Harry, so it could all change. I think we will be getting crowds coming throughout the year because HP fans/ theme park aficionados will be coming over to check out Harry, so attendance cannot be compared to previous years.

Thanks Felipe, it is appreciated. I must stay WWoHP looks stunning at night, thought it would and wished i could catch it just for one night in summer however traveling the world that often is a little hard to pull off!!! Actually 20 hours on planes to get to Orlando from NZ and that excludes hanging around airports.

Bring on October....

May have been posted before, but I'll take the chance. There are two very big and very nice night-pictures here (esp. the last one, makes a perfect wallpaper!):

Felipe, if you go again today or soon, you know I expect to know what great stuff you got.

And thanks for adding to my list guys. I think if they do have to add stuff from the last movies, it will probably be from part 1. I don't see anything really that will come from that movie. Everything that has to do with Deathly Hallows that's already there is from part 2.

Sorry for the later than usual response. We were there until park closing, and seriously spent hours just walking around the area at night. We've seen pics of it before lit up, but not like this. The best view of the castle, seriously, is from Hippogriff. You can see right into the great hall. We have a bunch of pics and some vid in the latest BTT update.
The billboards are also in full effect along the major roadways including the big one on 528 with the wand coming off the sign.

Ok, we are traveling now! I signed up for Twitter to keep up with what is going at WWOHP on while we are on the go. My Twitter is ColleendollHP but I really don't know how to use this. I thought I could see all the posts of [HASHTAG]#potterwatch[/HASHTAG] but I think I need to "follow" individuals. Is there a way to follow or get updates of potterwatch? Not sure if the Condo we are going to has WiFi but I am hoping it does. I hate being disconnected. I want to read the forum while we are at the beach. We will be at the beach later today then to WWOHP 17th-20th.

My children are soooo excited that everything they hear sounds like something from Harry Potter. Like the next team the US soccer team plays starts with an "S" and they said "did that tv guy say Slitheren?" ha! Even the road signs on the hwys make them think of HP. We have the books on CD which we have been playing in the car during our trip. So far we are up to OoP!

Have fun!!!
I have a twitter as well, but I rarely use it, so I cannot be of any help unfortunately :(

--- Update ---

I have a question about the lockers--I've never used them at Universal because I usually don't bring much with me. But on opening day, I plan to bring some water, my camera, etc. Also, I am bringing a relative to the park in early July and I know we'll need the space for merchandise and whatnot. I plan to bring a backpack...but I'm not sure what size to bring. I have a tiny one that is about 15 inches by 12 inches and one that is a standard backpack. Would either fit?

You have to follow individual people on Twitter. I think there was a list posted on here awhile back of who to follow to get WWHOP updates, but I don't know where it is. Does anyone have this list?

I'm not sure if yesterday was the longest. Haven't kept up with everything so much. FJ seemed to start off with a 60 minute wait around 9AM. Later on, around 11am it was about 30 minutes. I left for a few hours, came back around 2PM and it still had a posted 30 minute wait until it closed.

Hope you have a nice flight and a great time at IOA! :)

Just a quick report - really backed up with work for the last and next couple days so Im sure it will take a couple of days for me to catch up with the board, but we DID get out there for an all-day soft yesterday.

It was GREAT to finally see the main walls (in front of the main enterance) down completely, the enterance looks fantastic with a full view instead of a gate and wooden/black wall up.
My youngest daughter got picked in Olivanders, and today is still running around with her wand trying to "create magic". Lunch FINALLY in the 3 broomsticks: fish was tasty and very lite, Shepards Pie was just OK, I like our family recipe better myself, but if youre not familiar with it you will most likely enjoy it. Picked up a new "supply" of pumpkin juice and cauldron cakes, so my dessert menu in the fridge is re-stocked.

Saw one piece of new merch that I hadnt seen before - Rita Skeeters quill and notebook - 24 bucks. They have restocked the brooms, stamps, etc, so thats good. Still no word on the three missing wand types in Olivanders, they are still awaiting approval. But we did find out that one of the new merch things they are waiting on approval is the Exendable Ears - this was straight from a store manager - so theres lots of merch still in the works.

Mauraders maps (which are the same as the Noble Collection) have been selling out so fast at the 65.00 price that they are planning on raising the price by 20 dollars TODAY - again straight from a merch manager. So prices are still in flux as they are finding out what daily supply and demand will bear - so watch yourselves when purchasing! LOL.

Hogsmeade and Hogwarts AT NIGHT is a SIGHT NOT TO ME MISSED! (I have been waiting to see it all lit up!) They kept the area open until park close (except for FJ - it closed about 4:30) but all the shoppes and shows were still running. Great evening (actually great day) as the park was suprisingly NOT crowded (even spidey and JP were walk-ons nearly all day - I think it was because of the concert in the other park last night), HG and DC never got above 15-20 minute wait even after FJ was shut down, and the conductor was wandering the streets all evening all over the village - we ran into him nearly everywhere in the last 2 hours of the night.

As I said it was suprisingly not crowded yesterday - we actually were able to bring the stroller into the shops last night (and if youve been in there, you are well aware how few people were in the shoppes last night after 830PM then - cause even with the shoppes empty it is still tight in there).

Again - lit up and at night, this place REALLY comes to life and is truly magical, and with loss of view of the show building, etc in the evening you really feel immersed in the land. The train and castle look totally different at night - with the show lights on: really makes them seem and feel real!

Lots of painters and touch up people around all evening in Hogsmeade, as well as Seuss Landing having a crew of painters working around the playground and Green Eggs area, so they are busy getting things ready for opening. Felt bad for the painters in the 95 degree heat, but at least with the humidity being low for a change in Fl, it wasnt a muggy heat.

Lots of stages set up in the area now, and they erected a giant video screen right at the lake as you enter the park, and a stage - they were showing clips of HP movies and ads for WWoHP on it, looks like that will be semi-permenant at least through the opening: funny seeing the crowds gathering to watch these commercials and movie clips standing around, I wondered how many of them didnt even realize the land was wide open for them to experience just around the corner!

I took a LOT of pics yesterday, especially at night, but again with work restraints it will take me a couple of days to get them posted and to answer many questions again, so bear with me - ill be back!

I guess I shouldn't be surprised that they are raising the price--but by $20!? I'd rather just buy it off line or something. Hope they don't raise the price of the Pygmy Puff. They'd probably be smart to keep it at $13, because it is one of the more affordable choices and more people would buy them at this price than a higher one. At least that's my thought.
