I highly doubt this. Not only would it disappoint (and make people less likely to come back) regular people, but there are Harry Potter fans who are WAYYYY older than 10. And the place was made for them. Yes it was made for everyone's enjoyment, but they wouldn't have themed it after Harry Potter if they weren't going to try and please those fans first and foremost.

That's what I meant. I was just saying that because someone was told the opposite, it could be possible.

Do you think there will be queues to get into the land this time next year?

Considering there have already been days where there's no line to enter, not a chance.

I just consulted with my Psychic, and then the God Zeus, and then IChing... None of them know. Hell, they aren't even sure if the planet earth will exist this time next year. All anyone knows is what tomorrow might bring... and even that could be wrong. Sorry to be sarcastic, but no one knows... even Universal Orlando Resort. A major component of FJ is currently broken and not working at all. How soon will it be fixed, who will pay for the fix. No one knows.

Moral to my story is: No one person knows what tomorrow will bring... let alone a year from now.

The novelty must be wearing off pretty quickly then because I've been there multiple nights over the past week (last night and Friday night were the two latest) and my experience is totally opposite of yours. FJ posted at 30 mins. but really a walk-on, stores nearly deserted (I walked right into Honeydukes, ordered treacle fudge, and was out in probably 3 mins.) and no lines for anything whatsoever but Ollivanders. I have pics. in one of my recent Examiner articles showing the stunning lack of lines/crowd. Not sure what was up on the Sat. you were there...you'd think this weekend would have been crowded due to the holiday but the crowds were totally absent at night.

The crowds at Universal have never really been heavy at night. Its not like Disney, Universal is not a full day park even with the WWoHP. People are simply completing the park and there are no fireworks or night shows to keep them there later. This is one thing I can't understand. IOA needs to have a show at night to keep people later into the night. Disney has perfected this, and the longer they stay the more money comes in.

You win sir, this is one of the many reasons universal fails compared to disney in terms of time spent in the park.

I assume you're referring to the lack of smoke from the dragon? Hopefully they get on that, it looks cheesy with the LED lights staring at you in the face...

As for the nighttime comments, dead-on. There simply aren't enough attractions to keep people there an entire day (9am-10pm); if I had my way, we'd have either a World of Color or seriously enhanced Universal 360 at Islands (which has the characters and emotional/nostalgic value of those characters to pull the show) and then give the Studios a new Dynamite Nights Stuntacular.

I diagree. I could easily spend a full day at IoA even without Potter. You have to just sit and appreciate the details and spots where no one goes. Those are often the places that are most realxing and make the day perfect. It's not all about hitting the major rides rapidfire, or even reriding an unhealthy amount of times. If you enjoy the park like it's not a cheesy tourist destination, you'll have more fun and will spend a longer amount of time there. However I do agree a nighttime spectacular would be the icing on the cake of IoA. At least some daytime thing on the lake.

Now thats a plan! I can see your plan for IOA happening but USF isn't going to have Universal 360 replaced until more money from HRRR and WWoHP comes in. IOA will probabally get a nighttime show in the next 3 years, I think.

FJ's line was much longer than usual for an evening tonight, but it was easy to see why. It was raining steadily, so everyone who was there was either in the castle, 3 Broomsticks (which was virtually empty at the same time last night), or getting soaked in the Ollivanders line. Made it look crowded when it was really a limited number of people but all crammed into three spaces. We had a good meal but didnt bother with FJ...got out just before the HUGE downpour.

On a side note, I heard the weirdest TM conversation ever while in 3 Broomsticks. One had come to our table to take my tray when he was interrupted by another who asked, "Where's the closest place someone can use their band?" (meaning the food band.) First TM says, "You can't use it anywhere in this area," and second one says, "I know that, but what's the closest place?" First one says, "Mel's Drive in." I thought I must have heard him wrong! Second one says, "Where's that?" and first one said, "Over by Beetlejuice." At that point it ended or my brain might have exploded.

Wow, that's the epidemy of dumb. The closest Meal Deal location is Burger Digs, which is litterally a minute's walk from the WW.

Most of the people on this site can spend a week or more inside IOA and not be bored or want to leave. Give me a tent and access to a shower everyday and I am happy, hell I could live there. But my comments were aimed towards the general public and tourists in general. Parades and night time shows are EXTREMELY important to tourists for some reason. I personally would rather make use of shortened lines during parades and fireworks but the average visitor would much rather grab a spot an hour before the show and stay until its complete.

Also the average vacationing family does not relax anymore nowadays. Going to Disney or Universal becomes something else to people. It involves planning, schedules, running, and in most cases fighting with family members over stuff you would never fight over. I see it every time I go to the parks, there is a dad dragging his family to the front gate at 8:30 am with tickets and maps in hand. Planning where to go first and in what order to do things. Several hours later you see that same family and the dad is yelling and wondering why in the hell he shelled out 4 grand for this vacation. Ok now:focus:

I agree, that's why I got an AP, so I could just sit and enjoy myself once in a while. I would seriousely rather live in IoA than in my house. I was just speaking for myself.

I do not believe so, it hasn't been mentioned... I assume it's served in the same style as the rest of the food... But it does not, to my knowledge, require extra reservations or any special type of advanced placing. And no, sadly I haven't been in the WWoHP yet...

The people seated next to us tonight had the feast. I noticed they were given a number on put on their table and wondered why. Turns out it appeared to signal the TMs to bring them the rest of the food after they finished their salad. The good looked good and they were scarfing it down heartily and appeared to enjoy it. I don't think they had any special ressies as they were a couple of people behind us in line and it looked like they just ordered it like everyone else.

I just got back from another trip to IOA/USF. I went to WWoHP for most of my trip and had an odd experience with FJ. The crowds were the worst I've experienced all Summer today and the heat was miserable. I ended up stuck on Forbidden Journey for 15 minutes right in front of a certain area. I'll go into more details on that in the spoilers thread.

As for the Dragon AA, lets leave that in one of the two spoiler topics on it. Anyway, it worked 100% today with all effects running.

If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask.

Olivander's is not worth 10 minutes, yet people wait 90

I'm sorry, but I cannot think of a single theme park attraction anywhere in the world that offers less reward for waiting than Olivander's. Not only are the waits up to 90 minutes, there's no official queue, and the wait is all outdoors in the hot sun. All this for a predictable 5 minute presentation (that you can watch in sparkling HD on Youtube) and the chance to get selected (about a 5% chance at that).
