hatetofly, what time of day did you go? Because yesterday I went around 5, it was cooling down and the streets were half empty.

I was there at 8:30 am, the pics you see were taken between 2-3 PM. In the morning the crowds were no existent compared to other days I have been. I will also note the rest of IOA had a 5-10 minute wait aside from Dudley in the timeframe those photos were taken.

Ah, I guess everyone decided to hit HP when you did. I love being able to walk onto most rides again now the Summer rush is over.

THEY HAVE EXTENDABLE EARS NOW?!?!?!?!!!

...sorry, it's been a while since I've been to the site, so this news makes me freak out. Has someone bought an ear? What are they like?

I think it'd be really cool if they have something like the talking fountain but instead do it with the sorting hat. I'm assuming the fountain has a camera in it's center where it could see the visitors facing it. The hat could have that and could read the expressions of the people and just mention it when they put it on the visitors head. Could even comment on if the person is wearing a certain house shirt which I saw a lot while I was there.

Longest we waited today for anything was 10-15 minutes, except maybe Ripsaw which was listed as 45 but only took about 20.

Plus, I got an interesting bonus today. When we were coming off Ripsaw, a team member approached us and asked how many were in our party (2), then if we had Express (nope). She had a stack of Express passes in her hands, and gave us two each! This is the first time this has happened to me, and completely out of the blue. Anyone else ever get this?

This happened to me once years ago but it was when express was free. An employee walked up to my cousin and I and handed us an express pass to the Hulk for no reason. I cannot remember a legitimate reason why we got them.

There are actually a bunch of cameras positioned around the fountain for the controller to see all angles and people behind people and behind the fountain too.

Maybe UO is copying Disney with the years of a million years promotion, with a "Make it a magical day promotion" and giving away express passes.

I've seen them given out a lot. Usually, they're just used if a ride breaks down. Some team members also just give them out if they have a nice conversation with you.

That happened to me in Disney a few years ago coming off Splash Mountain, It wasn't exactly a fastpass but it was a pass that would allow you to stay in the parks later after it was closed, it was awesome!

Yeah, these Express passes are called "Onesies" (meaning that they can only be used once). They've been using them ever since I worked there in 2006. But yes, they are used for guest recovery options, such as a guest situation where we need to make up the time lost (guest waited in line, kid too short etc.) and also when the rides have to evacuated, they are given out to every guest that was on the ride track.

Sorry just thought I would throw it out there that AI's darkride Tournament is nearing the end and the FJ is going to get knocked out, IMO far to soon. Go vote people of potter!

I wanted to make up for your vote, hatetofly, so that's one of the reasons why I voted for HPatFJ. Also, I thought it was simply better than the options available.

Hey thanks, I am done with that site. Now I know what Germany was like between 1933-1945.

Agreed. The guy is a psycho. He creates these tournaments to basically reconfirm his own beliefs and basically make them facts. Indy is his favorite ride, so of course it will win. And ToT is second, so it will obviously take second. He's said that FJ is the best ride since Indy, so guess which will take third. Funny how a democratic poll will end up identical to his own beliefs.
Back when he was first on this site, he and I were "friends". I got a text message from him basically complaining that the tournament wasn't going his way and that it was because of fan boys. I don't know exactly what happened, but he started AI right after that. Needless to say we've had a falling out since then.
