Dang I was hoping we would get a Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlour. Those ice cream flavors sound awesome. Not complaining though! I'm so pumped for this to open.

Certainly not surprised to hear that our WWOHP will be nearly a carbon copy of Japan's without the Black Lake.  I was hoping that we wouldn't still have to wait until Spring 2016, as they look ahead of schedule.  However, I do commend Universal for overestimating vs underestimating their time ;)

So glad to get the confirmation of eight shops and the 3D upgrade. This leaves us with nearly twice as many shops currently found in UOR's Hogsmeade, and a greatly enhanced FJ experience.

From a few photos seen on Twitter, it appears that Wiseacere's will be the very last shop in Hogsmeade on the left side of the village (this further proves that our layout will closely match Japan's).

Exciting to get confirmation of what we've known for a while, as well as new surprises thrown in! I'm very excited that it'll be in 3D, all reviews from Japan are super positive and are saying it's made an already amazing ride even more realistic and fun. So I can't wait :) I hope we get other improvements and/or additions within FJ besides 3D, like some additional physical effects or props HTF mentioned before.

Nice to see some Diagon Alley shops ported over! And another "accidentally" unique aspect for us is that we'll now have the only stateside Zonkos shop as well!

And yeah, with the current new Season Pass expiration dates, soft opening looks ready for March!

One thing they didn't mention is anything about interactive wands. I wonder if they'll keep that exclusively in Orlando, of if it will be another last second surprise or maybe a later addition?

Also, another simple thing that gave me chills from the announcement: USH's first outdoor coaster. It's something I've known from the beginning, but hearing them say that within the context of USH is absolutely surreal, this whole announcement still is. I can't get over how much USH is changing, and this addition is a lifetime dream come true for me. :)

In regards to USH's WWOHP being different from the other two in existence, Hogwarts Castle will have a slightly new "look". It will have a much more elegant & regal looking spires. The new spires are navy with gold accents. Unfortunately I can't post the pic(s) of the new spire for obvious reasons (I can already see some of you doubting pics even exist. Keep in mind it was I who told you FJ would be in 3D), but they've been on site for about a month now & should be unveiled within the next week or so depending on how quickly they finish their progress. As I said, the Hogwarts spires have navy colored cones with gold spikey accents/tops. To give you an idea, here is a spire that is similar in design (yes, it is Cinderella's Castle spire from Magic Kingdom).

oh and about Hippogriff... that is really quite pathetic that they're seriously hyping it up as USH's first outdoor roller coaster. It is nothing more than an off-the-shelf Vekoma Roller Skater that can be found everywhere. Its nothing special & existed at IOA as a Unicorn long before Potter took over. Is the theming for it great? Absolutely. More family/kiddie coasters should do it, I heavily themed almost all of my rides/coasters back in the days of RCT. But yea, getting excited over Hippogriff is something I don't recommend. Its great for kids, awful for adults. It is not exactly a smooth/comfortable "family" coaster. Be excited for the theming, but not the ride itself.

Was this really necessary? If you're just here to insult people who don't agree with you then what's the point of posting. Weren't you banned from another forum for the same reason?

Forums are always going to be places of mixed information.  Some ideas are accurate, some aren't.  I like to use a dose of common sense when making my decisions.  Have I been wrong (Stage 28), yes, but what do I get out of gloating...nothing. I am still a guest.  I still love Universal.  And this site is free to anyone who wants to join.

I recommend everyone to please stay courteous.   Pat yourself on the back and move on.

I don't expect scaffolding to come down for the astronomy tower in the next week.... It looks like it still hasn't even been painted yet.

Ah, I guess I'm in the minority who was underwhelmed by today's announcement. I understand why they made a big deal about announcing the general date and that FJ will be in 3D. Most people aren't die-hard fans like us and knew about most of these details already. The biggest news to me was the specific list of stores. I had assumed we were getting a carbon copy of Hogsmeade, so I'm happy to see some variation. And I'm still excited for WWoHP West. especially because it means I can get a Butterbeer without flying to Orlando.  :)

Do we think they will sell the butterbeer ice cream somewhere? Or will they keep that as an Orlando exclusive?

In narrowing down an opening date, spring is technically between March 21 and June 21. However, the announcement video said opening was less than a year away. So I think we can absolutely expect it to be open by Memorial Day 2016.

As for soft openings, you'd really need a crystal ball to predict those. A lot of it will depend on the weather for the next year. Remember, we still have one more rainy season between now and opening.

I searched the website top-to-bottom and nothing comes close to hinting about Butterbeer ice cream, unless they add a soda fountain/ice cream bar onto Honeyduke's. Sad because you'd think that would be a shoe-in.

Hopefully it comes about later down the line.

While we may not have the Potter ice cream shop, we do have a Simpsons themed ice cream shop that Orlando does not have.

Butter Beer ice cream is soft serve. It wouldn't be difficult to add it into The Three Broomsticks. I think we can expect anything that is a solid money maker, like Butter Beer in all its incarnations, to make it to Hollywood.
