Not that I saw. They set up the ques and then closed them off by about 11AM. I never saw anyone using timed entry.

No they were preparing them but didn't use it. I was hoping they would to try it.

I'm wondering if merchandise sales aren't quite what they were hoping for. Aside from the wands and butterbeer, I didn't see too many people buying stuff. And even with the wands they're limited to how many they can sell a day due to the capacity of the wand store (even though they're available from other stores, everyone wants the experience of the wand choosing them). I see tons of people with plush Minions, fluffy unicorns, and Lard Lad donuts, but not too many with HP stuff. Maybe things will pick up when the weather is cooler and Hogwarts robes and scarves make more sense.

Does anyone know what the ice cream being sold at the carts in WWoHP is? I kept meaning to ask, but got distracted and now I'm blacked out until August. It comes in a WWoHP branded container. Is it just regular ice cream or is it one of the special flavors that Orlando has?

I could totally be totally wrong as I have not had it. But I know it has Florian Fortescu Ice cream parlor logo. It comes in I think Vanilla, strawberry and I heard Butterbean MAYBE. It is some flavors from Orlando.

As of right now, there is no Butterbeer Ice Cream inside Hollywood's version.

Which is, of course, a crime that must be rectified.

I was there on Monday and asked about the flavors at the cart behind Ollivanders. They have three flavors:

  • Chocolate
  • Vanilla
  • Strawberry and Peanut Butter

The last flavor is also one of the flavors offered at Florean Fortescue's in Orlando's Diagon Alley.

I had Strawberry/PB at Diagon Alley last year and it was decent, nothing to write home about unlike Butterbeer. Hopefully they start serving it soon.

Was at the park today and got picked for Ollivanders! I got a birthday button to wear on my robes hoping it would help (my birthday was yesterday), and it worked! Surprisingly, my friend was picked too (she was wearing a first visit button) - I didn't realize they sometimes do two people at the same time.

^ That's a first Ive heard of them picking two as well. Pretty cool!

Also - tried the ice cream - chocolate was delicious! But strawberry and peanut butter... YUCK! It was more strawberry than anything and I barely tasted any peanut butter! And I love peanut butter! It was sheer disappointment. I'd suggest not spending your money on it.

There is a very interesting article by the team of 4Wall; as they explain of the creation of the opening ceremony's projection mapping.

While this may not be big for now, it could have a potential impact for if Universal wants to have Celebration come to USH..

http://corporate.comcast.com/news-information/news-feed/nbcuniversal-acquires-rights-to-j-k-rowlings-wizarding-world-franchise

NBCUniversal today announced an exclusive deal with Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution for broadcast and cable network television rights in the United States to all of the films in J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World franchise. Beginning July 1, 2018, all eight Harry Potter films can be seen on NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment’s USA Network and Syfy in a deal that also gives rights to air the films across all NBCUniversal television networks. The agreement includes exclusive basic cable rights to the new Fantastic Beasts films – the first of which releases early November 2016. In addition, the partnership incorporates exclusive content and events for the Universal theme parks.

As the exclusive television home for J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World, USA Network and Syfy will partner with Warner Bros. to bring viewers content that includes extended director’s cut versions of the first two Harry Potter films; the 2011 "When Harry Left Hogwarts" featurette; and 3D versions of the last two films in the Harry Potter series.

"J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World has captured the imagination of fans of all ages, from all walks of life, all over the world…and I’m definitely one of them," said Bonnie Hammer, Chairman, NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment. "I’m thrilled that our networks will be the home for this brilliant storyteller’s magical creations for years to come."

"We are pleased to bring one of the most successful and enduring global franchises to the networks of NBCUniversal," said Jeffrey R. Schlesinger, President, Warner Bros. Worldwide Television Distribution. "We feel this is a perfect new home for the ‘Harry Potter’ films and the upcoming ‘Fantastic Beasts’ films. Having all of these films in one place builds upon the existing relationship we already have with NBCUniversal and J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World, and creates many exciting new opportunities across multiple platforms for both our companies and the fans of this franchise."

The multi-business partnership includes both on-air and digital rights across NBCUniversal television networks through April 2025. Additionally through this deal, Universal Studios Hollywood, Universal Orlando and Universal Studios Japan can explore a range of new opportunities including fan events, movie screenings and promotional activities tied to the "Harry Potter" franchise and the upcoming "Fantastic Beasts" film series. The deal also envisages collaboration on joint digital initiatives to support the franchise, working with J.K. Rowling’s Pottermore, the digital heart of the Wizarding World, which hosts articles, features and exclusive, original writing by J.K. Rowling.

"Each of the Harry Potter areas within our theme parks around the globe build on the incredible stories of J.K. Rowling and the amazing films created by Warner Bros.," said Tom Williams, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Universal Parks & Resorts. "These are special places where the entire family can experience the adventures of Harry Potter."

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando Resort, Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Studios Japan, along with The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade at Universal Orlando Resort, have become global entertainment phenomena. They offer guests immersive, expansive environments complete with innovative attractions, shops and restaurants. The lands bring the films to life in an entirely new way and immerse guests in the adventures of Harry Potter. Universal worked closely with J.K. Rowling and Warner Bros. to create the areas to ensure they are as authentic as possible.

So does this mean no more ABC Family Harry Potter weekends? Cause don't they also have the rights to at least the first 5 or 6?

Essentially from what it sounds, Comcast got the network broadcasting rights to all of the Potter films for Comcast/NBC; including Fantastic Beast's and Where to Find Them (although I would imagine HBO getting the chance to have Fantastic Beasts for them for a period of time..or; as I would think).

But the kick, and why I placed it here; is that in the press release, it states this:

Additionally through this deal, Universal Studios Hollywood, Universal Orlando and Universal Studios Japan can explore a range of new opportunities including fan events, movie screenings and promotional activities tied to the "Harry Potter" franchise and the upcoming "Fantastic Beasts" film series.

ABC/Freeform will still have the rights to the films until 2018, though.
