I just caught a video of the new exit pathway from Toy Story Mania back into the land, and it's quite a little hike. The foliage is suitably dense, though, and to their credit, the Imagineers seem to have done all they could to make the trek something slightly more than just an unthemed walk; it's dotted with some simple - but kind of fun - tableaux.

Slinky dog had a wait over three hours earlier. Yikes.

Looking at the various videos, the land does look nice. I still wish it put in more then just two new attractions due to the obvious crowd issues it's going to have, but it is what it is.

An' with what others have said, the land actually looks really good at night! It's bright, vibrant and that'll be the time to really visit the land since you also don't have to worry bout' the sun which'll be a issue during the day. Also, it honestly looks better then Pandora at night, which is really ironic considering that was supposed to be a selling point for Pandora which didn't turn out the way they hoped.

I could go on for a long time. But probably the biggest thing is... why didn't they just copy and paste Cars Land? Or even a Pixar land that would've been RSR, TSMM, Inside Out-themed Junkyard Jamboree and maybe that Monsters Inc Coaster instead of a damn Third Midway Mania track??? They had Kathy Mangum on the project for heaven sake.

Such wasted potential.

I would've liked a copy/paste of Cars Land, however a Pixar Land with a mix of Cars, Toy Story, Inside Out and Monsters Inc...DCA's Pixar Pier shows trying to cram several different Pixar films together just doesn't work due to the clash of different styles, structures and sizes.

I disagree that just because Pixar Pier is lame means a Pixar land couldn't work. Pixar Pier was a cheap overlay of existing rides. You can't tell me that a land that could've comprised of TSM, RSR, and more couldn't have worked if done right.

What I wonder is if it will ever be feasible to take out the third track for TSM. It simply is not something that would be needed if there was an entirely different ride inside (the former) SS1. It was a very poor management decision to go ahead with the third track to begin with imo.

It appears that all 3 attractions have mostly open air or outside lines. Is that indeed the case? If so, those are going to be hot and miserable during the summer months. I hope they have installed lots of fans!!

Little kids love standing in outside lines for rides for hours. It's much better than Universal.

Here was the dedication ceremony. The dialogue is cringe-worthy.

Sounds about right. This isn't Toy Story Land, it's a new Slinky Dog themed coaster, and it's undersized support infrastructure.

BatB always fills up every show so I think that's how they justify it. Same with Indy and LM. I think they look at it and see that they are still popular, there's not reason enough to spend the money on a new show yet. I think it's foolish to look at something that way, especially because swapping out shows doesn't cost a huge amount in the big picture.

When the park has 3 rides, those 10 million people have to go somewhere every year.

A tweet from somebody who was in the land early, saying Aliens is skippable, and the quick service is tiny.

Nick said:
I kinda wish they had fully enclosed Saucers instead of leaving it open to the outside. For one, it would have allowed them to keep the ride climate controlled, but more importantly, since the ride is open to the outside, it will likely have to close when lightning is in the area. It wouldn't if they enclosed it.

But that would have greatly improved the guest experience, especially with a cool black light package and sound. But Disney just could not afford that $50,000.

At least they did Dumbo right. Thing is, this ride will have a much longer line than Aladdin, Astro Orbiter, or Acceletron, or Kang and Kodos

Yup. They still have time to replace the shows before SWGE opens, but their window is rapidly closing.

I get that many people like Mermaid, BatB and Indy, but these are shows from 1989, 1991 and 1992. Theme park shows should be changed out on at least a semi-regular basis. These shows being there so long is simply unacceptable.

Well yeah, it's obvious from photos the QS is tiny and it should've had covering too instead of just umbrellas at the tables.

Don't write off Aliens based on a tweet though. I've been on Maters Junkyard Jamboree quite a bit (which this is a rethemed clone of) and it can be fun for all ages. I actually would agree that it's a "skippable" ride, but it's not meant to be a headliner. It's a fun whip ride in a park that doesn't have really any rides where the target demo is young children.

But many a DizNoid would say it. Post it on DISboards, and you'd get 5 pages of praise.

Don't they make you walk all the way around essentially from the old exit, around the new track or something? Surely this is a temporary path.

The thing is all they needed to do was throw up some windows. I assume they purposely wanted the ride like this so that it attracts people walking by to ride it because they see/hear it, much like the Tea Cups at MK.

That's a baffling design choice. Surely Disney knew there would be a high demand for this ride, given that there are so few in the park, and even fewer aimed at this land's target audience.

When Animal Kingdom opened, and up to Pandora, they only had air conditioning in the Dinosaur and ITTBAB queues. Most stores don't even have it. It's part of that op quality Disney theming.

I feel like the dialogue for all of these opening ceremonies is absolutely terrible. Especially when they try and have executives play along.

I finally saw a POV for Slinky Dog. The ride has such a strange flow to it. I’ve never seen another coaster where you come to a complete stop 1/2 through the ride. Does anybody know of another coaster that does this?

Not necessarily an Apples-to-Apples comparison, but what about Expedition Everest? Revenge of the Mummy?

True. I don’t necessarily think that’s the same because those stops are used for the transition from forwards to backwards.

For a ride where the consensus seems to be that it's more intense than Barnstormer and (slightly) more than SDMT, but less so than Space Mountain and every thing else on property, I think it's fine. It's in a park with the most intense coaster on WDW property (not that that says a ton), so this is a nice stepping stone coaster.

I do think that somehow they managed to make this land look better than Pandora at night. I don't mean that like I think Pandora is amazing, but in that PAndora was advertised for it's nighttime features. TSL hasn't really been advertised for how it looks at night much... yet it seems like they did a better job. I'll judge for myself in person this weekend.
