Well, there is hope for an addition as Jurassic Park IV is finally slated to begin soon. From Wiki

Jurassic Park III director Joe Johnston revealed in an interview in January 2010 that Jurassic Park IV was set to be the beginning of a second Jurassic Park trilogy.[33] He also added, “Jurassic Park 4 is going to be unlike anything you’ve seen.”[34] According to a new interview conducted in 2010 by Drew McWeeny with Joe Johnston on the website Behind the Films, a new script is under works with a different idea behind it. Johnston says once he finishes Captain America, he hopefully will develop Jurassic Park IV with Steven Spielberg. Joe Johnston enthusiastically has confirmed the likelihood of the film's production more than once.[35]

It's not coming back. I'm pretty sure it was confirmed a few weeks ago that the part of the queue that was cleared was intended for worst-case-scenario-overflow queue for Forbidden Journey. They didn't need it.

Whoa, really? That's a disappointment.

I really doubt they would put a new ride in Jurassic Park, even though I would really like a new ride there, there's just not enough space in Jurassic Park to put a new ride there unfortunately.

Actually, there's that plot of land behind Thunder Falls. It can be used for a ride.

It's right by the splashdown area of JPRA.

I believe much of that area you are referring to is JPRA's retention pond. JPRA's water isn't fed from the show lagoon, only Popeye and Ripsaw. That pond could possibly be rerouted, but it is in fact being used.

Here's a picture taken this year from the splashdown area.

As you can see there is some space back there but not much. Just beyond that fence is the area jmercer is talking about.
There is however a sort of "bone yard" area that Universal uses for storage of vehicles, props, etc. Still probably not enough room for a whole ride, but if they ever needed to expand something they do have a bit of room there.
Here's a picture from Bing Maps:

You can also see this is where they've moved the Twister vehicles for safe keeping.

Actually, this large storage area is nearly the size of the spiderman building... I have actually done graphic overlays to check. So, new JP movies with very new and twisted themes could finally suck this area up for a whole new experience. And remember, Johnson stated that it would be a whole new trilogy... so that is promising 10 years worth of new movies based on JP! Let us hope that it is so!

I can kinda imagine a new ride being put there if the Thunder Falls restaurant, the "boneyard" area and the retention pool were all demolished, I can see something like that Jeep ride I've always wanted being put there. But Universal probably needs that area for storage and maintenance reasons..... :bang:

Triceratops is coming back. Bank on it for Christmas ;0) For an attraction like that, they don't need that huge queue they had...

I don't see why they would need to get rid of Thunder Falls Terrace. There's plenty of room for a large show building with it still being there. Then again, it doesn't really matter does it? Thunder Falls is in the same league as Green Eggs and Ham and Cafe la Bamba: the restaurants that seem to always be closed.

it would be cool to put the trike encounter as the queue for river adventure. theres plenty of room to move the sets/props across the path. it would be nice to be able to feel like your in Jurassic park when your waiting!

^ that would be pretty cool. sorta like Mr. Potaoe Man on Toy Story Mania queue.
im fine with Thunder Falls leaving, there is still the Burger Digs resturant in JP. The only problem is that IF HHN returns to IOA then that minuses a haunted house...

I thought that area where Thunder Falls is could be used for the queue or something like that, and I don't think that place would be missed (unless the food is actually great there, since I have never been eaten there before).

Just got this from a website sounds to me like they have always had an express path:

From 2002
"I was there yesterday and it was open and they did have one person at the front of the encounter and one at the end with the triceratop. There was not wait at all. You just basically walk through a long air conditioned trail and at the end the guide is there with the animated triceratop. It was a very big disappointment. This really needs to be updated or just totally done away with. It is not a ride and it would be a waste for someone with express passes because you don't need an express pass for this lame walk through."

Maybe just a clear up for a new attraction?

I'm sure it's activity, but it doesn't seem like construction. Hopefully it's progress though.

I'm sure it's not what you meant but...

"Ah, what a beautiful garden, what kind of tree is that? IS THAT A VELOCIRAPTOR??"

Oh, why does everything have to go wrong at Jurassic Park?

Maybe a nature walk has anyone remember there were AAs of raptors in HHN 12 (first year in IOA) and when visitors come near the bushes of JP they pop out i wonder if they still have it and could put that there with Triceratops Encounter.
