I would assume the priority for Taika right now is on Thor: God of Love and Thunder, and Wonka for Netflix.

Part of me...wonders if this is about Rian's. Like no crap, it's been quiet but not entirely dead. If it was dead, he would be talking a bit more about it recently as if it was dead. But in past interviews, it still seems very much alive. The only other project Rian has right now; is with the Knives Out sequel, and even then that's a more "immediate" response due to how well the original succeeded.

Just because there's major news doesn't mean that things need to happen too quick. They could announce a 2023 time frame for Taika's movie.

Or I guess if they really wanted to have "Major news" on the film side, they could announce a timeline for both Rian AND Taika's trilogy's.

It'd ultimately make sense. Lucasfilm is beginning to be used much more now with Disney; and if they're going to keep churning out projects, they're going to be needing to be vocal. Especially if this 4 hour presentation is of anything (yes, four hours), they're going to need the timelines and dates fully announced and locked.

If Taika and Rian's projects (and that's not even considering Kevin Feigue's project) are getting further along, it makes sense to go out publicly and state updates. Especially if they're coming sooner than we realize.

LucasFilm also has Indy 5 (supposedly) and the Willow Disney+ series (outside of the Disney+ Star Wars projects). Hopefully we get some sort of update on that tomorrow.

It's kind of fascinating to see how they began in Disney as primarily churning out Star Wars to now having to go into their backlog of old content (with 4-7 films depending if you put all of Rians trilogy altogether). It makes me curious if they'll try to begin to invest in new IP at Lucasfilm, to test the bed similar to franchises before it at the production company.

I'm kind of glad Lucasfilm got the shot to the knee with Episode IX. Hopefully it keeps them runnin'

It would be nice to hear updates on the SW films mainly because I have no idea what they are doing. TV wise we have a picture for the next year and a half (Bad Batch, Obi Won and Mando Season 3) but movie wise when are we seeing the next Star Wars film? I feel like excitement is growing for the series again and I wonder if the Last Jedi Director is going to have to talk to Dave/John before he can go ahead with the film so not to upset the base again (I know...i know the film made money but literally no reason to make something that in anyway could lead to negative press when The Clone Wars last season, two seasons of Mando and Squrdains game all were really liked)

Thinking about it again though, just because they will have a "major Star Wars announcement" doesn't mean films. We could be looking at a MCU type announcement when they announce a new phase. This could be them basically confirming the Filoni-verse. Laying out the timelines, announcing a ton of new shows that haven't been officially announced, etc. I would hope that they bring on Jon and Dave to make these announcements since they are the ones that have righted this ship, but it'll probably just be Chapek. Probably some sort of teaser footage for some shows.

I think what we're looking at as far as Star Wars show announcements is:
- Ahsoka
- Cara Dune
- Boba Fett
- Bo-Katan
- Young Mace Windu show (possibly)

Possible teasers on:
- Obi Wan
- Cassian Andor
- Boba Fett (they've been filming supposedly)
- Ahsoka (It's been reported that they filmed enough for a teaser with her)

One of the trades did report that Disney will be making theatrical announcements (not necessarily for STAR WARS, but for something).

Well Disney isn't expected to pull their whole slate from theaters like Warner did, so that could simply be what they mean. Some movies are being pulled, but the big ones are staying in theaters as of now it seems.

Percy Jackson news is definitely going to be announced tonight:

There won't be any footage because it doesn't exist.

10 Marvel series
10 Star Wars series
15 Disney/Pixar series
15 Disney Live action films

Plus theatrical films coming to Disney plus.

Raya coming to Disney+ similar to Mulan.

10 Marvel series and 10 STAR WARS series on Disney+ "within a few years."

Sounds like potential overkill.

Good to know they’re focusing on quality, not quantity

Disney is also roughly 3 years ahead of schedule for subscribers across the board:

Remember when we oversaturated the market in theaters? What if we did that on Disney +?

Depends what within a few years means. If it’s over the course of like 3-4 years? That’s about fine. Any less than that and it may be overkill.

For Star Wars it’s absolutely overkill.

from day 1 I’ve said “Star Wars is not Marvel”, but it seems they’re intent on diluting the brand and making it into that

Is Star just the name of the Fox assets now? Their demo was Kingsman, Die Hard and Alien.
