It is actually quite fun when the floats come out before the parade! I got some pictures of the Despicable Me Float and I loved it!

I like that the characters come out during the day, especially the new ones - I don't know about the floats being out too, though. Doesn't that kind of defeat the fun and surprise of the parade, if you already know what the floats look like?

I guess I'll find out when I go see it this weekend.

I was also of this school of thought, but then after having watched these street shows, and the parade, I must say, that getting people familiar with characters they maybe weren't familiar with before the parade, then having them in the parade after they have interacted with the guests prior to the parade, makes the kids a whole lot more involved, and invested in the parade!

^ Well then, that is more like it. Hopefully it is somewhat popular and the sidewalks are full of smiles.

I happened to walk by after the parade and I heard a lot of "That was Awesome" and "Too much fun" and only saw smiles..this has less pageantry than the Disney parades, but that's what I think people like about it..it is new and different..The sidewalks were quite full as well and I would consider it a quiet day when I went...let's just say I got to move around and look in the windows in Potter Land

Finally saw it and I can honestly say I was impressed. I loved the dance sequences and really thought it added a lot to the parade. I'd love to see an extra float or two though.

There are already 4 major floats. Do you mean a 'float or two' extra floats?

Maybe another full sized float and another supporting float.

I don't think it has been posted, so here is a pic of the merch cart for the properties featured in the parade:

FYI, they replaced the NBC logo with a Universal Orlando logo on the Despicable Me float

Something really interesting I saw during the opening of Despicable Me. Gru was actually on a platform that rose out from the middle of the float. Kind of like the Incredibles during the Pixar Parade at Disney. Maybe all the floats have this and they just haven't decided to use them for some reason.

It's at 3:17.

This makes me a sad panda. Seeing the NBC logo made me giggle.

"We stole the Time Square Jumbo-Tron! Oh yeah, you like watching football on that, yeah?"

I wonder if it may have just been for yesterday's event.

I really hope so. Having the screen resemble the jumbo-from from the film, all the way down to the NBC logo, was a wonderful detail.

It was probably just for the publicity photos. Did anyone see the parade later on in the day to see if it was still there?
