I finally saw it. I actually like this more than the Cinematic Spectacular. I thought this was going to be a hit and a miss but I was wrong and it definitely draws thew crowds.

The monkey on the float closest to Dora does an adorable thing of pointing out to Dora any child with a Dora anything. (think hats, dolls, etc.)

No more Minions to lead us off?

Yup, looks like The Lorax gets the honor of leading the parade. Dont know if this is temporary or permanent. Get that Lorax on a float filled with Trufulla Trees!

Obviously just a push for DVD/Blu-Ray sales.

I agree with BJ. Lorax just got its home release. Probably just some emphasis on that for the time being.

Cool to see him involved no matter the reasoning. People may get their Seuss float wish at some point though.

Checked yesterday, and Mr Lorax is still leading the parade! I kind of like it the more I see it. Hopefully the addition of floats over the years does occur. This is a parade I can watch a lot because you really need to see it from every angle to appreciate it.

Has anyone noticed that the spongebob float doesn't have the bubbles coming out from it anymore. I only saw it once when it first opened.

Replace the Hop float with a Lorax float. I think that was so stupid to put a Hop float in there in the first place. A Lorax float could have the potential to look really cool.

There's no need to replace an expensive float that the kiddies enjoy. If anything, they need to start adding more floats.

I may have never seen the film, but I have to say that I really like the Hop float. It's got a gorgeous design, the characters are popular in the park, and the performers are stellar.

Yeah on paper it doesn't seem like a winner, but in person that Hop float/ companion float and performers are fantastic.

Universal has a surprising record of making things that you would think wouldn't be that great on paper, be awesome in person. Mummy ride, Dead Silence house, Hop float, etc.

The Hop float is apparently the best one, ironically.

Got curious as to who builds these floats yesterday. I got part of the answer. The electric drive systems and chassis are built in OHIO. This company appears to be one of the leaders doing everything from the Rose Parade to Disney Parks Parades to now Universal.

They even build the small zero turn vehicles:

So today I started filming each individual float. Here is the first one. Hop float filmed by the NY arcade. Probably a little shaky, and it does start at Spongebob but I'll have a Minion focused one posted soon that shows the whole parade.

^ Thanks for the video!

BTW: What kind of camera did you take that with? I has a weird warp/shift thing going on when you pan, especially upwards towards the buildings. We have been seeing a bunch of pictures lately with these bends and I am wondering what brand of cell phone or video cam does this.

That's not the camera, it's youtubes anti shake. It's either have an incredibly shaky video or a weird bend. Or of course the other option is get an actual camera and tripod

Heres the Minion focused video. Taken over by Horror Makeup. This one has the whole parade front to back. Also if you were wondering, Yes I ran from the arcade to the other side of the park to film this! Some day soon I'll do the other 2 floats as well. A great project would be to have like 4 tripods and 4 handhelds try to capture the same parade all synced up. Anyone think they could coordinate such an undertaking?
