It might be a bit late for it to happen next year, but I think they should seriously look into K-Pop Demon Hunters.

I got roped into watching this last week, thinking it was going to be absolutely insufferable, and... yeah. I was wrong. "What It Sounds Like" has been stuck in my head on loop ever since. One of my very first thoughts after it was over was that this would kill at FFN, especially if they set up a stage in the courtyard and had HUNTR/X (and the Saja Boys?) perform a few times throughout the night.

The marketing pretty much designs itself ("HUNTR/X performing LIVE tonight at FFN"-type stuff), and they'd absolutely make a killing off selling "band merch," that's for sure.

There's definitely competition now if they do decide to coincide with 2026 releases, just last night, JoJo's Part 7 anime got confirmed for a 2026 release.

I'm still pushing for something more main stream

Jojo is popular but if people are confused by Chainsaw man....I don't know if Jojo will hit the general audiences. Demon Slayer and My hero are at the end and just peak right now in terms of fans so I'm really hoping for My hero....but would but would not be upset with Demon Slayer

But we will have to wait and see and it wont happen but Dragonball or Fullmetal are also classics that I doubt anyone would have an issue with but might be too big to come to this for now

I mean to be fair, something anime is not what you'd expect to see at HHN, which seems to attract horror fans (who probably don't touch anime in the first place) the most. They probably threw it in in wake of FFN's success and to also potentially appeal to those coming for FNAF and probably otherwise don't attend HHN. (Side note, at least the CM merch will be easy pickings for discounts once HHN ends, meanwhile FNAF stuff has been getting eaten up and I heard the masks quickly sold out to where it seems they only had Chica left when I went to the park on Sunday)

I think it just comes down to if they will or won't shoot for coinciding media. JJK's probably not as mainstream considering the One Piece merch flew off the shelves and I still saw some JJK shirts in the discount store in CityWalk on Sunday. I also finally did some research and yeah, there didn't seem to be any major media releases for it this year outside of the ongoing manga. So that's one possible factor that they might not care if something isn't as popular as another.

It could really go either way. I do get the desire for your top picks too. But as of right now, it's hard to say whether DWT picks will fully come down to popularity.

In other words: I think another niche/not as popular anime getting the theater is just as likely as a relevant/mainstream one.

Sure but I assume JJK was a test and a cheap one (plus it was an easy anime like chainsaw man to catch up on

If we are making a show for this theater, I'd go with one of the bigger ones that easy to Follow

I know Jojo is big, my brother loves it but Demon Slayer movie shows people want it and My Hero is also doing well and its easy to follow heroes with powers fighting villains and I think most people could watch season one from either anime and understand whats going on...Jojo changes it cast more offend unless I'm wrong

While I'm not trying to dumb down the events but I doubt most anime fans would be upset at Demon Slayer or My hero...both are solid and would have a ton of merch to sell as well I'm sure plus I think many people would love a Deku, Almight and other characters meet and greets from those shows

I was thinking they could take it a step farther: If there were plans to repurpose D&D, they could easily reskin it to a KPop Demon Hunters experience. Have the story where we get a private performance of Huntrix and then the Saja Boys come in. Have the finale repurpose the giant puppet at the end as the main demon and boom. You have an experience.

If it's too late in the game to have an experience, then at the very least a small stage show in the Universal plaza with a meet and greet afterwards.

I'm not against the Demon Hunters coming but do they have any connection to Universal?

The anime do because of Japan but was Universal a partner in this in any way? Netflix is building its own experiences now and might not want to give up such an easy golden goose

I mean, not every property featured is going to have a connection to Universal. This past event had Star Trek, a Paramount property, and Dungeons & Dragons. Neither have any connection to Universal, and both have frequent exclusive experiences outside this event. I think you are overthinking things a bit. Netflix can work with Universal for this one event and still do their own experiences elsewhere.

I haven't seen KPop Demon Hunters but I can absolutely see it being a fit for FFN, experience or plaza entertainment.

In fact, I'd be down for this to be a way to bring IPs to Universal plaza. There's definitely other IPs that could fit this bill. Hatsune Miku anyone?

Edit: Remembered Miku expo exists, not sure if they'd do it, unless the M&Gs warrant a unique experience for Universal

And as the guy with a Splatoon pipe dream, this was the exact model I was thinking of for if we ever get it

I'm just pointing out Netflix is making there own mini parks and nothing saying it can't happen but also if it would work so well, why not build a stage and do a show at one of its own locations?

Once again not against, it would be a huge win but wanting to ask if its just a want or something that we've hard rumors on

Hasn't Universal worked with Netflix already for Stranger Things? Doesn't seem out of the question if so.

Netflix is moving into the event business as well. I'm not saying it can't happen but....also not guaranteed at all at this point that Netflix will work with anyone. Things are changing, heck there is a rumor Netflix might buy WB.

I get that, my point is this single event is not stoping Netflix from still doing that. Dungeons & Dragons literally has a traveling stage show right now. Companies are always doing experiences for their properties, while still working with Universal, Six Flags, or other entertainment venues all over the US and the world for additional experiences. The closest of those 'Netflix parks' to USH is in Vegas and it won't open til sometime in 2027. The other two are in Dallas and Philadelphia. None of those locations are in direct competition with the Fan Fest in terms of scale or marketplace.
