I think Juju is the only thing I'm kinda meh on.....Demon Slayer or My Hero i I think would have made more sense and been cooler (both animes are like peak fandom right now and they are ending soon...so its kinda now or never....Jujustsu is new it has years to get featured)

I imagine Jujutsu Kaisen is a byproduct of having the easy access of the USJ materials to then be able to localize and translate/dub for the sake of a pilot year.

With hope, we get original films following this year (or at least coordinate with Osaka as part of the Pacific Rim Division).

I hope next year they bring over the Detective Conan 4D show from USJ. I had a chance to experience it in Japan and it was amazing. It would fit in perfectly in the DreamWorks theater

Looks like they upped the food game for FFN.

Given the limited resources the USJ team likely had to work with, it's incredible how well they were able to retrofit the T2 theater. Unfortunately, I'm not sure whether Conan has the same cultural penetration within the States as something like Demon Slayer or One Piece. I'd sooner expect the My Hero Academia or even the Evangelion/Godzilla shows to make their way to the DreamWorks theater first.

Additionally, if the idea is to create an event that acts as the middle point between Cool Japan and Horror Nights, I wonder if we start seeing after-hours coaster overlays on Hollywood Drift as soon as 2026. It would be interesting to know if anything in the building permits indicates a more flexible queue space within that brick building, which is suitably generic enough to fit any theme.

Very curious to see how these Star Trek and DnD houses turn out! And it’ll be fun to walk around the BTTF area, just hoping crowd control doesn’t make it a big cluster bomb of people.

I have zero interest in the Nintendo, One Piece, or the other thing meet and greets, but the fact so many people are just shows that Universal’s struck gold and that this event could easily evolve into something much more complex in the years to come. Exciting to see such a thing kick off from the ground floor!

Didn't Demon Slayer have one...or was that for a different USJ attraction?

Different USJ attraction, it was the XR attraction overlays at Space Fantasy.

If I was looking at what attraction you'd give the overlay treatment too--I'd actually say Mummy. I think that with Hollywood Drift going to be open likely before FFN2026, having a reason to get people to queue up for Mummy might not be a bad idea if you do the XR treatment.

If the lines for Mummy XR are as long as the lines for Space Fantasy XR, then no thanks!

Totally fair! But I think if you are going to do an overlay, it'd either be Mummy or Despicable Me.

Despicable Me would have the plus in that you could have one of the theaters get "genericified" for the sake of a overlay.

Glad there’s a few walkthrough attractions. Not a huge Star Trek or DnD fan, but I am VERY curious to experience those. The BTTF stuff is what I am most interested in, but have a feeling it’ll be too much explore and not enough show. My level of immersion is not the best when it comes to those things lol.

Unfortunately, everything else sounds meh. Wizarding and Nintendo are unfortunately what we assumed and just extra adds on to the already existing area, pretty low effort, but perhaps very enticing to someone who has never been to USH before. It’s 50/50 for me. I think this is a “wait and see how reviews are” kind of situation as of right now. I am definitely avoiding the eventual headache opening weekend will be. If this is another “you NEED Express to be even to mildly enjoy this,” then that would count me out, but again, need to see the spoilers from opening weekend, or possibly even first several weekends.

Other major pluses is the fact it is open late (2am), which definitely gives it the HHN vibe. Making it seem more like a party might help. Could be fun just to go with friends and drink when it gets closer to summer. Also the price point is pretty decent. Love that ALL the rides (aside from Studio Tour) are open, even Despicable Me and Pets. Making the event family friendly will definitely be a strange mix with children hanging around at 1:30am.

As of now, without knowing any further details, I wish they explained what their goal is for atmosphere. Obviously other than One Piece, there aren’t any “zones,” but even if it was just projections and music of different properties in different spots, it’d help the vibe. Maybe I'm thinking too far ahead and just need to wait and see, my biggest hope is they’ve just thought all these aspects out.

I think for seasonal event operations, Hollywood Drift actually makes more sense. The queue changeover would be less intensive, the only real changes are media-based (so changes can be implemented within the hour), and the lack of VR headsets would negate increases to the average dispatch time.

And I would agree if it was more something like the Hollywood Dream overlays--where you have the onboard audio play music related towards that material. But I think when you consider it on a perspective of a proper "Overlay", Mummy or DMMM makes sense as you have options to use VR and then work the profiles depending on the films needed.

Honestly chewing on it more, DMMM makes sense because of the two-theater setup. It'd essentially be on-par with the likes of the 4D Cinema from USJ, when it gets the Universal Cool overlay.

It might also be easier for the sake of a VR adaptation as opposed to Mummy, because of the backwards segment. Using DMMM would allow you to rework things without dramatically affecting DMMM to an extent (plus it is a 10+ year old attraction now).

I would be very down for Fan fest 2026 to give us a themed mummy coaster ride even with just sound....maybe some projections but if only sounds then cool. Also they have a video area in the Q to set up the story

Also does anyone know when the event ends? 1 AM?

2AM.

It's a full on HHN event in event operating hours.

Disappointed that the SNW stuff is just Yoshi centric but still cool to see. I wonder if his walk around is just for the event or if he’ll eventually get inserted into the regular SNW meet n greets. Hopefully the latter.

Also, hopefully Daisy makes her way in.
