The more I see and hear about this event, the more I’m looking forward to it. All 3 of the main experiences sound fun. Also, I’m very curious about the Yoshi Egg Hunt.

See I'm the opposite, this sounds like the fun sort of immersive theater I enjoy doing in NYC. Moving from room to room in a show is a lot like Then She Fell and BTTF sounds like it could be a promenade sort of immersive performance like a masked punchdrunk show. I think there could be some extreme repeatability in these experiences, more so than HHN.

I didn't think anyone else knew about Then She Fell. lol Man, it's been YEARS since I've thought of that.
I'm all about that sh!t, though.
Have you done Sleep No More or Life and Trust in NY? Unfortunately, SNM closed but Life and Trust is good.
How about The Willows or CREEP in CA? The Willows was amazing and Creep was pretty hit or miss but still fun each year that it happened. Unfortunately, I haven't heard about them doing anything else recently.

I just did all of the Jason Egan Escape Rooms and Meow Wolf's Omega Mart in LV last year and they both definitely hit similar feels and vibes for what i think people like us enjoy. I am also now wholly determined to see every Meow Wolf in the country. When they open the new one in NY, i'll be there.

As someone who has been playing and DMing DnD for years, has been in theater all my life, goes out of his way to do escape rooms and interactive games wherever I can, this event is right up my alley; ALAS, i am unavailable to attend so i must live vicariously through anyone in this forum.

Huge immersive theater fan over here - did Sleep No More too many times, already logged half a dozen visits to Life and Trust, with probably a half dozen more before the end of the year.

Poseidon's Fury executed at the level of Then She Fell (just to set scope expectations) seems like a good comp for Star Trek and Dungeons & Dragons, IMO, and that's incredibly exciting. There appear to be more animatronics, puppets, and large-scale effects than I was initially expecting.

As for the Back to the Future experience, I agree that it feels like it's going to try and harness some of the foundational elements of the Punchdrunk masked shows, especially now that they've indicated the characters will operate on an approximately hour-long "loop." We'll see how well that works or if the average guest catches on. There's an opportunity for on-boarding since you'll have to ride the tram over.

Finally, as far as the egg hunt goes, I believe there's an important element to it that hasn't been publicly announced. I bet we'll get clarity there soon, and it'll probably make many folks here happy.

All of the talk in the Hamilton thread has got me in the mood to gush about some theatre.

What are some of your favorite shows? Have you been able to see any on tour or on Broadway? Any deepcut shows that you love or super popular musicals you despise?

I’m trying to not have too many expectations one way or the other. My thing currently (really this whole time) is I’m not a fan of these properties, outside of HP and Nintendo. At this point I’m not sure if my lack of interest in Star Trek won’t matter and I’ll just enjoy being in this immersive environment, or if I’ll find myself kinda bored or annoyed. The thing about HHN is even if I don’t like the IP or concept behind a particular house, I still love haunts, so it’s enjoyable either way (for the most part). Seeing as these experiences aren’t haunts, I just have no idea how I’ll feel.

But I still support the idea and am very curious to see what it’s all like. Keeping an open mind.

Went yesterday and its getting me hyped up see it all there with my eyes

I think Fan fest will be fun for most people but also the people like me will enjoy it more because i did the homework....we've had months to watch Star Trek, jujutsu kaisen, One Piece etc. Now that im more into some of these IPs again I should really enjoy it even more but yeah if you never have the shows/movies a watch you might not care as much but its not like we didn't have fair warning on what to watch if we wanted the event to mean more to us, the event kinda will be what you make of it

If your just a watcher it should be fun but the real fun is meeting other fans and getting to interact with the characters.

I'm not trying to say you have do anything but for me the event is going to be fun because I love BTTF and can play along with the characters...along with One Piece

Pretty disappointed with this BTTF zip up. I love the 40 logo with Doc on the clock tower SO MUCH, but it falls pretty to me the classic theme park merch trend of “let’s make a must-buy, amazing shirt or jacket from the front and then slap a gigantic, dorky and overdesigned picture on the back so you’ll never want to wear it out of the house!”

Like, come on guys.

Called Universal since its a week from Fan fest and I still just have lots of questions

Things I learned
Express works on BTTF, JJK show, D&D and Star Trek and the rides open nothing else, these attractions should all be open until 2 AM but no word on which of these will be open for early entry

No word on what characters you can meet outside of Yoshi and Wicked and no times on when they come out

No Word on Fan Costume Contests which I swear I saw in an official USH story but maybe I'm wrong. No info on if live music will be there or what the other two stages set up at Simpons/near Jurassic will be doing.

I'm positive it will be a fun and worth while event but...communication. This is one of USH biggest faults. Disney puts out guides with EVERYTHING with after hour events, they literally hand you a map before the event time so you can be ready to go

So I hope this even does well but its a hard sell for some people with this little info outside of the main attractions. I know many people waiting to see how it goes before buying tickets and I think a simple email and video could help a lot...maybe after the TM test events we will get what I'm looking for but I really think at this point we should know
1) What live music or any other shows are available and where in the park?
2) What Characters and where will they be meeting?
3) Is BTTF an hour long "live show" that resets every hour on the hour or just whenever the show is done it resets?
4) What is open during Early access...This cost extra no idea how its not settled yet

Anyway I know in the end the event will be fun but would like a better roadmap to plan out my night

Um... OnePiece Straw Hat crew is literally the main meet-n-greet/photo-op (upper lot).

If you can't find the "where" to meet specific characters from the blatant themed areas, that kinda falls on you, not Universal.

They've also stated you'll "meet Doc, Marty (possibly Einstein) & other citizens of Hill Valley" in Courthouse Square

They'll most likely release an event guide map to screenshot/download just like they do for HHN. Unfortunately, we can't have paper maps (unlike Disney). If we don't get that in the next few days, then that's a fail on their part.

What about Wicked and they have put on advertisements more characters will be available to meet, who, when and where?

Even for One piece are all characters available at all times or on shifts? If I want to see Zoro is he always out?

How do the BTTF meet and greets work? They make it sound like its a live show, so is it selfies only is there an area and a line for them or its it character to character in that area?

I hope we get a guide but the TM on the phone makes it sound like since its a new event things aren't set in stone.

Knowledge for these is not a bad thing, the easier myself, vloggers and friends can push the event to others means it will do well and we can get more years of this. And if I am critical on Disney on things for me I have to be fare and do the same to USH, I may not like the price of afterhours event at Disneyland...but going to one they did a good job of telling you where and when to be somewhere if you wanted to be there. Want to meet Flik, he is here and all night. Want to see the Goofy dance show its here at this time. Not perfect but when I call and they don't know whats offered during Early Entry...that seems just off to me it cost to come early and you can't promise your offering anything yet? I know we can speculate but they are not committing and its 7 days

Note as Well this is a Fanfest, Fan is short for fanatic. Many going to this are like my self and would like to have a plan so they can get the videos and pictures they are hoping to get so just wanted to put this in as well

Many here may already know but wanted to point out the Three Broom Sticks and Toads Cafe will require a reservation via a QR code to eat at for the event.

I wonder if they will just use the three meet and greets areas for the yoshis

I thought maybe the Boss battle area since three characters can fit there and it has more area for a line but maybe just outside they will have them all
