Everything can be done in under 3 hrs right? I just realized it’s the last weekend for the event that I can go but I have prior late night engagements Fri/Sat. I haven’t been convinced in going by what I’ve seen but don’t want to regret missing out on the inaugural year.

They raised the capacity cap, apparently, but you still don't really feel it. On Saturday, longest we waited for an attraction was for Dungeons and Dragons (about 20 minutes both times - once during early entry, once around 9pm or so). Star Trek was a de facto walk-on. Mario Kart had about a 20-25 minute wait. Pink/Blue Yoshi was mobbed because Green Yoshi couldn't come out due to rain, but we went as soon as it opened and still go through in about 30 minutes.

You should be fine with the D&D/Trek walk-throughs as well as Jujutsu Kaisen. Probably BTTF too. Check the times for Hogwarts Always.

It'll be tough, but its possible.

Meet-n-greets seem to have been underestimated (no surprise there), those have the longest lines. So you'd have to sacrifice those if only going one night.

If you count everything outside Hill Valley, food, and meet n-greets I'd say yes.

Hill Valley's just a little dicey because you don't know which point of the movie you'll be inserted into, so your experience could range anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour depending on how long you want to stay.

I would just avoid the meet-n-greets altogether if you're looking to drop in and out. If you absolutely have to do a meet-n-greet, then I would drop Star Trek from your plan, as its really not up to par with the rest of the event's offerings.

FFN 2026 wishlist:
- D&D Secrets of Waterdeep sequel (SS15 or UBE)
-If D&D doesn't come back, ARCANE. SS15. Need a Vi/Caitlyn M&G too!!!
- BTTF: Destination Hill Valley (Focus on BTTF 2 instead) and original BTTF ride overlay for Simpsons
- One Piece show (WaterWorld)
- Detective Conan Jewel Under the Starry Sky show in DWT (this is so good, I've been dying to do it again since I experienced it at USJ. It would be perfect for FFN)
- Rosalina activity/M&Gs (Luma hunt) and do the drone show in SNW
- Anything relating to Sonic. It's a Paramount IP so it's possible, right? Not sure how they would handle a walkthrough experience for Sonic but I think M&Gs or something else is possible.
- More Wicked experiences. Maybe have it be one of the walkthrough experiences.
- New HP fireworks show exclusive to USH

Presuming this event was successful, I think it would be beneficial to have event threads and spec threads ala HHN. We can keep the one thread for now till we (hopefully) get a confirmation later this month that the event will return.

I went last Sunday as well and it wasn't busy at all. Most crowded areas was BTTF and the Jujutsu Kaisen show. Everything else was a walk on most of the night

Yeah, but it was also like that on opening weekend... so it's about the same

All of these are great ideas. I'm not sure we'll ever see Detective Conan here, just because I don't really see a wellspring of Western interest in the franchise. As far as I'm aware, none of the recent seasons have even been dubbed, nor have any of the movies seen wide releases ala Jujutsu Kaisen, Demon Slayer, or even DanDaDan.

Also a Vi/Cait M&G might be too powerful for such a tiny park, ngl.

Ended up going this past Sunday and had a blast. I wasn't very impressed with Star Trek or D&D, but the Back to the Future experience is stellar. Star Trek's story kinda amounts to nothing. D&D's story is a little better, but the actors seemed to really elevate the whole thing. We planned to do both again to see if we liked it more, but never went back because we felt like spending time in Hill Valley made the most sense. I think we spent 4 hours down there? Stay until the end of the night, because Hill Valley is dead and it's great to be down there without the crowds. The actors are all killing it and it's just so much freakin fun. Someone brought a puppet and Biff tormented the hell out of the little guy. Super happy we did a quick 36 hour trip to check this out.

I would love to see Square Enix represented at the event. Be it Dragon Quest or Final Fantasy, there’s a HUGE fan base to tap into for the publisher…

Final Fantasy would be AMAZING. My dream would be Kingdom Hearts but… obviously no.

I still can't get over how good this event is. I'm really sad I couldn't go more than one night but unfortunately I could only make it for one day. I'm really curious on how similar it'll be if they bring it back next year. I know we'll most likely get new IPs but I hope they continue with the D&D stuff. I want a sequel/continuation to Secrets of Waterdeep. Besides that and BTTF, everything else can change imo. If Star Trek does come back I hope they improve it. ST was one of my least favorite offerings for this year's FFN. It wasn't bad at all but it was too short and the ending was anticlimactic. Needed more personality too. It was still fun just not great.

If we have any other Detective Conan fans then that would be great but I assume you and I are the only ones here that have watched the anime states side (I watched so much of this when it was called case closed, they just started a new dub of it a few years ago but no idea if anyone watch it since the new dub is not done by Crunchy roll)

I never got a chance to go to the event, but I'd like to go there sometime. Until a spec or wishlist thread is made, here's my hopes:

I'd love to see Dragon Ball get a chance to shine here. Probably the most recognizable anime worldwide. I'd also be down if they got the English dub actors on board.

I also hope they collaborate with Capcom to bring Monster Hunter from one of their Cool Japan events, now that I would love with life-size animatronic Rathalos, Tigrex, or Deviljho! Those videos of them looked amazing!

Just got back home from the event a bit ago -- was supposed to go two weekends ago, but it got delayed; then was supposed to go last weekend, but broke my toe! So... third time's weekend's the charm.

Got in the park around 7:45 and went to Star Trek first. Waited in line five minutes, if that -- while I appreciate the IP at the park, I would've been pretty annoyed if I'd waited, say, a half hour for this. The crowd energy was pretty low (more than a few people who were texting/scrolling Instagram through the whole thing) which wasn't helped by the fact it was really, really hard to hear the characters, even standing just feet from them. It seemed like there was genuine confusion moving from room to room because nothing was really happening thanks to the "telling, not showing" concept. By the time the crew member at the end was saying, "Did we just make... first contact?" and looking around the room trying to get a reaction -- anything -- out of the crowd, only for it to be over, I heard quite a few "That's it?" type comments on the way out.

After that, we popped over to Jujutsu -- waited about ten minutes outside before being brought into the preshow around 8:20. Knowing absolutely nothing about any of this, I appreciated the subtitles, but I didn't get much out of the experience. Weirdly, I was expecting more considering how KFP utilizes the full screen space; I wouldn't do this again, but hearing people cheer when characters were mentioned/showed up in the preshow and during the show itself was nice just for the fact it's always cool to see people be into things even when I'm not.

Next, we shot to the lower lot for D&D, in line by 8:55. I've never played D&D, but I was really looking forward to this one anyway. Funnily enough, it reminded me a lot of Poseidon's Fury in terms of tone and cheese, which I'm A-okay with; one of the two guides was really into it, which brings a lot to it, but the first two rooms in particular were, like Star Trek, really hard to hear dialogue in because of sound bleed from elsewhere in the house. Many of the effects were really fun, and that puppet was great. Nothing mind-blowing, but cute -- for lack of a better word -- overall.

Once out, we walked onto Jurassic World, grabbed a drink, and then headed for BTTF, which was the #1 thing I was looking forward to tonight -- we got to Hill Valley a few minutes before the Enchantment Under the Sea dance "began," so didn't get to see too much of the characters out and about, but it's fine, because being able to be right at the base of the Clock Tower was such a nostalgia trip. I loved the vibe down there, loved the fire tracks, loved what I did get to see of the characters (even if some guests act stupid in interacting with them in a way I feel sorry for the actors having to improvise around), and quite enjoyed the half hour spent down there. (I will say, though, the trams were so slow -- we got on the tram to head back and it stopped around where the Curious George lot was for over 20 minutes before it pulled up and we were finally let off! Something was clearly up, but everyone aboard was getting restless, hah.)

We had to skip Hogwarts Forever because of the tram delay and we wanted to hit the road, so we were back to the car around 11:30. As I mentioned in the past, I wanted to support this event from the ground floor, and I'm glad I did, even if I personally didn't get as much out of it as others because I don't do meet-and-greets, which was clearly a big draw tonight. There's SO MUCH potential here for future years to grow and expand, and just judging by how many people were there, how many people were dressed up, how many people were waiting ages to meet characters, and so on, Universal seems like it has a hit on its hands.

I wrote in this thread on the 29th what I want to personally see more of out of the event, and now that I've gone, I stick with what I wrote then. More walk-throughs, more shows, more "living" experiences like BTTF... Whatever it is, the sky's the limit going forward. I will say, though, that taking a page from HHN's houses may be worth it in some circumstances. For instance, D&D -- early sound issues aside -- benefitted from the energy of its actors, effects, etc., while Star Trek -- sound issues not aside -- floundered because nothing felt propulsive. I low key think that Star Trek could've just been a walk-through house, the story of which could include Klingons or the Borg or whatever; as is, it just doesn't work like D&D does, so perhaps a mix of traditional "houses" and "guided experiences" would be healthy going forward from IP to IP. (But again, that's just my opinion.)

Anyway, glad I went even if I wasn't necessarily blown away overall, excited to see how this event continues to evolve in years to come, and I hope everyone who has been had a blast and everyone who will be going this weekend or next enjoys yourselves, too!

Yeah, I definitely feel the sound bleed and difficulty hearing the actors. Hope that gets ironed out in the future.

I really hope FFN's been a hit enough so far to where they'll have a bigger budget next year and have some more walkthrough experiences. It'd be a win-win with how the sky's the limit for representation and how various people already want to see certain IPs not limited to Horror represented (I'll make my own list later)

Hearing how long the M&Gs got though really has me wondering where should I fit them into my plans for the 15th, as I'll be going with a friend and doing early access to buy as much time as possible, and so far, it's tentatively this:
  1. JJK (My friend and I are familiar with anime despite not having seen this series so I think it's a good start)
  2. Star Trek (Would rather not start with the weakest thing, I feel like that could not be a good first impression)
  3. DND (Hopefully it's almost 7 by the time we finish up with this, that's what I'm banking on)
  4. SNW Egg Hunt M&G + Yoshi (I know my friend wants to do this, so I'm split between knocking it out early or waiting until later when lines are reportedly shorter by then)
  5. One Piece Meet and Greets
  6. Harry Potter stuff
  7. (Food break, possibly before or after Potter)
  8. BTTF (I'm leaning towards saving it for last with how much time you can spend there and how it is open until closing, no need to worry about M&G lines capping towards the end of the night)
Been trying to take other people's stories of their experiences into account for this, so I hope it's a solid itinerary.
