Catching up on the news, this is a dream and being able to revisit Scarecrow alone may get me out there. Looking for more details on the bars and other activities but having a year-round, highly-themed Halloween party is just incredible.
That said, regarding the IPs... I think there's a legitimate concern that these aren't strong year-round draws.
This isn't a knock on quality of either the houses (they all have a proven track record) or even knock on the quality/popularity of the IPs themselves (Texas Chain Saw is a Letterboxd Top 4 for me and it's obviously still just as relevant 50 years later). But these are already secondary IPs at Horror Nights proper, safe seasonal IPs they had easy access to. But they aren't the ones that move merch and they were not the main selling points of the years that featured them. Which, for September/October is totally fine, but are people going to make time to go through an Exorcist: Believer house in May when they could be going to a hockey game or concert, or even just gamble?
But like others said, they're competing with other attractions on the strip. I think it's less about TCM vs Halloween, and more that you really needed something with broader appeal, like a Stranger Things-level mega-IP. Something that you hear about year round. Trust me, I know these are basically white whales and a deal like that is easier said than done logistics and investment-wise.
100% would love to be wrong if it means having a permanent HHN I could visit whenever I get the itch. But I am nervous that, considering the majority of people only think about horror during Halloween, this isn't a lineup that will convince a broader audience to expand beyond seasonal interest.
