I doubt Unleashed will go this route, but Fright Walk at Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, and Frankenstein's Castle at Indiana Beach have literally no scareactors at all. It's all just automated and themed funhouse style scares. And both were pretty good for what they were.

In fact, Frankenstein's Castle has a very memorable moment to me where at one point you enter a room that is all doors... and all of them actually open (most to passageways, though there's one or two blank walls). It was crazy to stay there and figure out which way to actually go. Not my pic below, but you get the idea.

I do suspect Unleashed will use live scareactors, as it's what their known for. But I won't be surprised if it won't be as many as we maybe think.

Exactly. I did the year round haunt near Cedar Point (Ghostly Manor), and their relatively lengthy maze was completely done by two scareactors that would just keep moving to different places. And they were surprisingly effective!

but they just had the same costumes and kept coming out?
( obviously they're. it gonna change any costumes within seconds, but how obvious was it?) or were the costumes so generic that it didn't matter?

I imagine these houses will have 6-8 performers a cast, which can increase to 12. That’s about half of a normal house.

Scarecrows is all scarecrows. Could be minimally staffed (let’s graciously say 6).

Monsters - Dracula’s Bride, Wolfman, Mummy, Dracula, Bride of Frankie, Frankie, and two random Villagers can cover that effectively (8).

Exorcist: Believer - Two girls, two demons, two priests (6). Next.

TCM - Three victims, two family members (which could vary by shift), two Leatherfaces (7).

With less than half a traditional cast, Unleashed can make these houses feel stacked. The reason HHN casts so many people is because the congo line and tight backstage areas prevent performers from easily moving to new wholes without causing missed scares. Unleashed, with a steady pulse, can allow one Dracula to scare across three-four scenes in his castle without breaking a sweat.

if the boo holes are not as noticeable and obvious as in a regular hhn house then it won't be a big problem. because if you don't know that an actor is missing then it's not really noticeable. ( I have no idea if they just built this just like hhn)
but if you can't even tell anyone is missing then it's gonna be ok. even if actors were missing.

during hhn, some empty holes are brutal. some rooms completely depend on the actor.

some empty spaces almost ruin the whole room in some specific cases.

I think Fright Walk is great for what it is (an experience that costs $8) but I suspect @Legacy is right that we'll see fewer scare actors but using the permanent space/clearer passageways to their advantage.

The boo holes will likely look like they normally do. You just won’t realize anyone is missing because the performers will likely move from scene to scene with the group. Therefore, the empty holes are in rooms with no guests in them.

With normal HHN, performers are assigned one specific hole they do not deviate from (at least, they’re rarely given permission to deviate from). That’s necessary in a congo line because there’s a constant string of guest so there has to constantly be a performer.

Unleashed isn’t that.

Too be fair... we don't know what/how the houses will be executed for this new attraction. But for the ticket price, they better make sure it's memorable (and also scary). Otherwise negative reviews will spread quickly

10% actual info, 90% long-winded rambling

Despite that, it will be very interesting to see this attraction evolve. TCM & Exorcist are definitely a choice. Hopefully Universal Monsters won't be swapped out since that's the Universal legacy.

Overarching story that connects together... well with Jack involved it seems to be the "Carnival of Carnage" route.

Cool video. Too much stock footage. Yay TJ! Curious to know if it's a direct duplicate of the Orlando/Hollywood versions or their own new version

It’s a new version, built to that space.

And they likely haven’t filmed in the new space yet, that’s why it’s all stock footage.

My friend sent it to me, so I'm assuming it was public because he said he saw it on their YT page but now it's not there since it's unlisted

Wait if your 21 or under would you still be allowed in the bars? Since it seems like all of the shows/entertainment are in bars.

This sounds great!

This article was a great read too, with excellent tidbits from Nate Stevenson and T.J. Manarino:

I Was Stoked To Hear Universal Horror Unleashed Is Bringing Back A Fan-Favorite HHN House, But The Improvements Are Blowing Me Away: ‘Spoiler Alert'

Reminds me of how Tonightmares had "Holding Rooms," which greatly benefited that house.

I don’t know what the laws are there, but around here as long as they serve food it’s okay for minors—and we’ve seen pics of food being served in this area. Just a guess though.
