Normally I’d agree- except this is also the park entrance. So exterior is significantly more important here.


More:
You have to walk through city walk before passing the large “universal rotating world” logo prior to crossing a very pretty bridge over water to get to this entrance.
Meaning the lead up is very important and elevates the experience to the entrance in Beijing.

Universal kids may have a small lead up to that, admittedly, blah facade.
If it doesn’t? Woof.

It’s not even the colors so much as the flat 2D aesthetic. It needs dimension in the worst way. But again, we don’t know the lead up to this so it’s tough to judge in its entirety

Yeah, pretty much, all you’re getting is something similar to the 2.0 concept art. It’s nothing but parking up to that point.

Plus, I think the official hotel entrance is on the side, the southern wing, that has the porte cochere, and main elevator shaft that’s already being built. Hotel guests may still end up using that front entrance though. Don’t know.

A new construction progress video has been posted for Frisco, with work continuing on the hotel and the trenches for the water ride becoming more pronounced:


In the image below, we can see a general overview of current progress on the Troll and Shrek areas of the park. It's hard to make out, but it seems like they've already delineated the footer locations for the Trollercoaster.

Roller coaster track layouts and other outdoor ride elements. Theres noticeable gaps in the plan with just footprint outlines for most rides.

Likelihood of us getting a Krusty Krab restaurant at this park given the Bikini Bottom area? It would be such a massive missed opportunity. Honestly, would love a Chum Bucket quick-service and a sit-down Krusty Krab...one can only dream...

Here are some construction photos I took yesterday at the construction site. Luckily, I only live a mile away from this new resort...so it will be exciting to watch new structures rise up throughout 2025! I'll do my best to capture any exciting new updates. Furthermore, I'm not sure if this has been discussed here, but I believe the two coaster models will be a Zierer Force 190 and the other will be a Vekoma Junior Coaster (335m model - FotH at IoA). The latter seems to fit perfectly within the site plan at that spot and fulfills Universal's agreement with the city to not have any coasters taller than 50ft.

These appear to be taken from the actual property itself. Are they allowing “civilians” to park in their parking lot now? I’ve been wondering if or when they may open up a preview center. My thinking is that it will be in those buildings erected on the expansion area, and most likely after the entrance to Universal Parkway is completed.

I’m betting that’s the other minions ride located on the island. The concept art made me think of Maters Junkyard Jamboree due to the ride vehicles.
