I don't agree at all. With a park there's going to be too much out there. You'll get an announcement well before it opens

The Internet has changed things, it's a lot more difficult to keep things under wraps now but I don't expect an announcement any time before 2018.

It looks like universal are trying to get Islands and The Studios in perfect condition before they announce a new park. It really does like all these additions are now part of a greater master plan.

I mean i think logistically, it makes sense to have a monorail type system. If they plan to increase their overall hotel footprint, that means more are staying on property and who would want to bounce back and forth between the areas. I just feel like buses are an inefficient method

Further to buses being inefficient, I don't think that area could handle that much more traffic, I'd hate to be an on-site guest and be stuck in a jam.

Also, seeing as one of the concerns they raised with skyplex was traffic congestionthen they would surely need another solution to busses.

Here's a thought. What provisions does Uni make in case Lotr does ever become available to them? Will the court case occur soon enough in the process that they could still include it in the new park? Do they just leave some land open for it or for other future expansion in case they don't get it? Either way, they have to have a plan in place in case it ever becomes available.

Are there any large transparent oled or other tech screens in use in central Florida?

I went searching for working tech yesterday and I found this companies products. Digital Displays & Signage Solutions | Planar

Well at the moment Universal Boulevard sits unused and never congested while I-Drive is packed every day. The traffic concerns are only apparent in the part of the road immediately surrounding Sand Lake. Basically, I could travel all of Universal Boulevard in ten minutes or less.

I don't think Star Trek is that dated. I'm sure there will be more films in the pipeline.

There's a movie in the pipeline and more importantly a new series is coming soon as well.

Yeah this is what I was thinking would work really well for for a transit system to detract attention away from I-Drive locations. The only instance I can think of locally of this being used is in the Test Track queue, of course on a smaller scale.

Yeah, that is why I went and looked into it. I didn't think it was truly in commercial production. How large is the screen in test track? Are you sure it doesn't use a projection rather than an embedded lcd? I've never been since the rebuild.

It's on a fairly small screen, I think it's very similar to what's become very popular on slot machines lately.

Right here at about the one minute mark:

Thanks for posting... what I am looking for is a horizontal screen that one can see the real room beyond:

Yeah this is what I was thinking of. I would also layer it with one of those glass panels that can become completely opaque as well. At certain points it could highlight what your seeing through the window and then at other points completely block out the outside view and just show video.

That does give off a cool Avengers vibe.

It would be a nice feature in The Hulk queue.

Just to get back quickly on the skyplex subject .
Is that the promoters already have the 500 millions into there's pockets or they are actually looking for investor ?
Because some people say the project was already pushed to 2018 to find investors, so, actually, is this project is sure to be completed or not ?

If this true and Universal is worried about this project cutting into their profits would it make sense for them to become the investors? How close is this to where the new park is going to be built? If it is close Skyplex would make an awesome center piece to a new Citywalk.

Uni is still selling packages at off site hotels on their website. Until that changes, they would have to account for those people.

Say a family buys a package through universal Takes that hotels shuttle to the current resort. Goes to the park, but then decides they want to go to the new resort. They go to get on the monorail/bus/whatever, and are told they can't use it, they have to take their hotel shuttle. I don't think I'd want to be working the customer service booth that day...

I wonder if Universal would add stops to the partner hotels in exchange for them helping to foot the bill for building the monorail. Doing this would be a good way to offset some of the costs of building it.

I don't think Skyplex would work in CityWalk as they wouldn't want to add a coaster outside of their parks, also it's wildly impractical when they have the room to have restaurants at ground level. That way they don't have to deliver food and drink 570ft into the air, also I don't think they want to elevate guests that high over their parks as it might ruin the 'magic' they've created with their themed lands.

It could maybe work at the Wet n Wild plot but then again, it's a crazy investment for something that's still unproven in the real world.

I don' think Universal would want any help building a monorail or any other type of transport system. I'm not saying they have endless amounts of cash to spend but I don't think they need the investment nor do I think it would be worthwhile for the hotels. Universal would want also want the system to be as efficient as possible. They want guests to get to where they're going as quickly as possible giving them more time to hopefully spend more money in the parks, shopping or eating. Adding multiple stops will also allow non guests to use it for free or cheap transport.

Back to the thrill park talks. Wasn't there talks of a thrill coaster park a while ago but that idea was shot down?

At UOR??? Not that I have ever heard of. There is only one coaster coming and it won't be an adult thrill coaster but a family coaster.

I've heard a few people talking about relocating some of the backstage buildings at Universal to free up some space behind the Studios, now if that does happen, is the Hogwarts Express track going to be a major issue with expanding the park out?

For a roller coaster? There have been serious discussions by VIP's in UC about removing and/or rearranging backstage buildings on the opposite side of the park (eastern side), but not for a large thrill coaster. I don't know if person's got their wish or not.

Sorry, sometimes I don't read closely enough. You were quite clear about it in hindsight.
